In the 60's of the 20th century, the Botas brand won great fame. At that time, everyone wanted to own the luxury sneakers with the Botas inscription, and it is no wonder millions of pieces were sold. Today they look a little different, they have adapted to current trends, but they continue to sell. Unfortunately, not as much as they used to.
What is the whole story behind these luxury sports shoes, made famous by Emil Zátopek?
Botana was founded in 1949 in Skuteč near Chrudim. This village boasts a long tradition of shoe production. And when we say long, we mean it. Shoes have been manufactured here since the 16th century! At the turn of the millennium the company was renamed Botas.
For a long time, the company produced luxurious sports shoes for today's well-known and popular brands such as Puma, Adidas, Nike, Bauer and Salomon. Most of them were specialized shoes for various sports such as tennis, basketball, soccer and athletics. Even though the shoes were even worn by famous sports stars, it did not bring them any glory, because the company participated minimally in the production.
The famous luxury sneakers were formerly worn by Czech athletes, among them, of course, four-time Olympic champion Emil Zátopek. He ran more kilometers in the than anyone else in the world. Today botasky are worn, for example, by the national futnet team or junior cross-country skiing champion Andrea Klementová. It is no wonder. Production focuses mainly on sports shoes.
Botas is definitely not afraid of new colors with its new models, so you can choose whether you want shoes like a rainbow or just red ones. Which do you prefer?
It has always seemed to me that the footwear brand Botas has always benefited only from its most famous period about 60 years ago and is not very interested in innovation.
It is obvious also this time at first glance. It that a bad thing? Well...it depends on the particular model.
From the new models I probably like the pair of shoes called RAINBOW MAKER the most. Merry shoes for the even merrier march Prague Pride – ideal. But as an answer to the question of where else I would take this piece, I would probably say: "Only for a walk with the dog around the house."
But the greatest horror is the black sneaker in combination with quartz green, red and gold! This literally makes me sick!!! And the price of over two thousand crowns sounds like a really bad joke. So for me the current collection is nothing special...
