The catwalk of the Prague fashion week was dominated by vibrant colours, lipsticks, bold make-up, maxi dresses, animal patterns, and musketeer boots. Nothing so strange here do you think? We would agree with you, if all of these elements did not appear during the MBPFW on men. Let´s be fair, isn´t the number of bizarre collections with a total lack of manliness begin to be truly alarming?
Dominika , Kozákovátrio Lukáš Krnáč, Vivien Babicová and Kristýna Coufalová, Adam Koste and studio design ArtEZ, all of them are changing their view on men's fashion. And while DominiKa Kozáková and Adam Kost appear on our list of greatest embarrassments of the Prague fashion week for the second time round, the others have a première. The selection now includes, because of its extravagant outfits, even the studio of fashion creation, UMPRUM and the brand Outsiders Division. However, their models are just a drop in the ocean in the abundance of eccentricities.
You would be hard pressed to find a more tender-hearted men's collection. Adam Kost decided that the SS19 collection is to consist of men´s models in pastel shades and maxi dresses. We have no idea what has led him to do that, but we hope that there will be nothing of this sort the next time round.
Dominika Kozáková and the trio of Krnáč, Babicová, Coufalová headed in a similar direction, having dressed their male models in colourful clothes, arming them with high heels and make-up bolder than that worn by many a woman - and sent them to the catwalk.
UMPRU meanwhile decided to turn women into massive bonbons and dressed them in bulky outfits full of ribbons and excessive volumes of fabrics. Our motto is to the contrary: Don´t be ashamed of your figure, and show it off!
The studio of design, ArtEZ, was perhaps the greatest curiosity. It presented headscarves made of plastic, controversial hoods over the face, strange hairy fabrics and plastic bags, as well as a new hit among handbags. Despite freedom that we advocate in vogue, we recommend to omit this piece, you will save your good name, as well as protect the nature...
World fashion weeks are known for the fact that despite them being a kind of celebration of creative beauty, there will always be several designers who move the limits of craziness way somewhere to the level of Pluto. The exception was not, of course, even the Prague one, and that is why we will now quickly sum up the greatest evils this posh event.
First of all, we have here Dominika Kozáková and her obvious penchant for the cracking of PINK-coloured eggs on her head. Did she experience some trauma in her childhood? I cannot otherwise explain that splashed on stain on her head, hairy violet clip ons, scribbled on overall, handbag chain...the only thing missing is a black eye and Cyclops’ third eye.
Then we have here another castration, this time round delivered by the ArtEZ studio. A shiny blue coat, a giant corset with pink lamb fur, smokey eye shadows and a fine perm hairdo. Help!!!
And to conclude we have here the Czech trio, Krnáč, Babicová and Coufalová. Here the saddest and at the same time most comic was the model consisting of pink cycling shorts, blueberry-blue jumper with leopard pattern, red rhinestone sunglasses and finally the monstrous black combat boots. In my view a tragicomic story...
