In 2018 she presented an eccentric collection called FREAK SHOW, full of colors and wild makeup. Her source of inspiration at that time was modern circus and the bold collection enjoyed great success in the Netherlands, among others. Will her significantly more moderate FW19 collection reap the same success?
Dominika Kozáková enjoys creating her own dream world, which is dominated by unconventional materials, colors and structures. The result of her conduct are luxurious collections that make the audience erupt in applause. This time, however, the designer came up with more than just a wave of extravagance! Unexpectedly, she also brought models that might even find a place in your wardrobe!
A plaid dress with bows on the shoulders, a stylish red top combined with a trench coat, a sexy pink corset crop top, or a shiny pink-orange strap dress belong to the pieces that even the less daring could take for a spin.
Despite a certain level of moderation that accompanies the luxurious FW19 collection, one of Dominika Kozáková's unwritten rules - genderless - continues to apply. Unisex remains a key concept and we can regularly see men in heels or skirts typical for women’s fashion in Dominika Kozáková’s collections.
The work of this creative designer is thus intended primarily for people without prejudice and with an open mind or for the LGBT crowd. And how do you feel about it?
Dominika Kozáková is without a doubt one of our craziest designers. Some might consider her collections as way beyond the line, but if, like me, you see the whole collection more like a show or presentation of artistic costumes, you will enjoy it from A to Z.
A dress that would be inappropriate for a lady to wear in public, but could 100 % find use in the bedroom, is the glittery pink one. Could the designer’s desire to live up to her name be behind it? The neckline is so low that a special term should be invented for it! Plus, that sexy crown on the head and those gloves...
Another kooky piece that I found super entertaining is the black-and-white set. Its pattern strongly reminds me of the Disney fairy tale "101 Dalmatians". This would be a fitting outfit for one of the wilder parties at ROXY, for example. Well, even the infamous Cruella de Vil would definitely approve of this, after all!
