Oscar de la Renta would be ridiculously proud

It doesn't matter whether you love casual and comfortable fashion or fabulous robes with puffy skirts and a train, you'd definitely come into your own at the Oscar de la Renta fashion show. Creative directors Laura Kim and Fernando Garcia have done a great job and we have no doubt that the luxury SS20 collection would have made the late American designer of Dominican descent rightfully proud.

You might have hated geometry at school, but you'll love it now

The show was opened by a parade of daily wear models, which included dresses with distinctive geometric patterns, stylish jackets and trench coats, chiffon mini dresses, elegant shorts or chic jumpsuits.

Queen of the night

Soon afterwards, a plethora of evening gowns of asymmetrical cuts, high splits, deep décollets and a never-ending shine flooded the catwalk! Oh, that's exactly how we imagine a luxury collection with a touch of Caribbean exoticism. And this yellow model? Try it on and men will be falling at your feet!

A crocheting course

Undoubtedly, everyone was equally impressed by the crocheted models, which looked as though they were made of straw at first glance. So if you don't know how to spend those long winter evenings and crochetting is your hobby, maybe you can try and create a luxury model for your next vacation, what do you say?

A beautiful, colorful collection full of interesting materials, patterns, quilting and most importantly… it's incredibly wearable! You could put on anything from the Oscar de la Renta SPRING 2020 fashion show and draw envious looks both on the street and at a party.

Having browsed through the entire collection, you'll find out that next spring will be full of colors, and whichever model you choose, you won't make a mistake. I'm looking forward mainly to the pastel, and of course floral patterns that will reign in the next season again.

Let's take a look at the so-called highligths, but also at the models that, at least from my point of view, turned out to be less successful, meaning I wouldn't spend money on them and you shouldn't either.

I want to become a basket knitter!

It never occurred to me that something that looks like made out of straw could be so elegant. The models exude the atmosphere of Africa and warm summer evenings. I consider these to be among the best models of the show! I guess I'll learn to knit wicker baskets and use this skill to make party dresses.

Only for a prom night in the US!

For me, one of the models that didn't quite work out is a huge dress with an even larger bow. Even the material doesn't make me want to wear the dress. The ball gown has a feel of an 80 prom night in America and leaves me unimpressed. I'm sure you'll find much more flattering dresses and lines.

Cinderella at the royal ball

The beautiful silver dress in which you'll look like Cinderella took my breath away. I would have probably put it in the wedding collection, but I believe that they could also be fitting for a themed party. Perfect shape for women who have, like me, a narrower top but wider hips.

Reserved for flawless bodies!

On the contrary, this model probably won't look flattering on you. Every imperfection will be in plain sight under this material and frankly, who'd want that, especially after the winter?

And the winner is...

Dresses with floral patterns! One in a canvas-like shade and the other in black. If you walked into a room wearing these dresses, it would immediately light up, also because of their perfect fit. This time, I find the light-colored dress a tiny bit better, as I wouldn't be afraid to wear it during the day. The downside would be that everyone would probably be stopping me and asking where I got it. Missed out, ladies, this dress is mine!
