The fact that the resorts which are set in nature are popular is no news. More and more people desire to leave a busy city and stay at least for a weekend near a lake or mountains. In recent years, however, the so-called forest houses or "Treehouses". If you liked to build “bunkers” in the woods as little children or if you dreamed of owning a tree house where no one dares to follow you, you can fulfill your dream and try to live in the trees for a few days. And certainly not like Tarzan, but specifically in a fully equipped cone-shaped house that you can find in Redwood National Park, California.
At first glance, the giant cone set in the treestops reminds of a fairy-tale, and the children might guess that there live some cartoon characters inside. In fact, however, this forest gem was built by Dustin Feider, who has been dealing with the construction of similar forest houses almost all his life.

The house is fixed to the redwood trees from eight different points and thus is completely safe. It is primarily made of steel and a wooden structure framed by acrylic glass. As a result, the exterior gives the impression of crystal diamonds in the sun.

Entering and exiting the cone requires a little effort because it is necessary to climb a steep ladder. The house hangs less than 18 meters above the ground and so for those who suffer from dizziness and lose security, it is recommended to use safety harnesses. The interior is very simple. Inside you will find two single beds, lamps and wooden floor, which is partly transparent.

But the most beautiful sight is hidden above your head, where under the glass ceiling you can admire stars, trees, or take a panoramic view of the forest. But you will not be cut off from the world completely, you have Wifi.

However, do not look for a washbasin, shower and composting toilet inside. If necessary, you will have to go down again and follow the wooden step ledder to the next tree house, where you will find everything you need.

The cone was designed to be easily disassembled and reassembled at a new location, and its pieces can be recycled at the end of their lifespan. It is currently on sale for $150,000, which is about 3.5 million Czech crowns. It is currently also for rent on AirBnb for anyone who is curious and wants to enjoy the silence and beauty of the forest. If you want something like this, you have to book similar accommodation long enough in advance and "wait" in a long queue.
