Valkyrie - comparisons to Formula 1

The Valkyrie project has been participated upon, together with Aston Martin, also by Formula 1 Red Bull Racing stable, while behind the design stands the great Adrian Newey himself, who is considered to be one of the most talented designers of all time and a legendary car racing engineer. He got his famous reputation in Formula 1 above all through his original interpretation of the rules, but mainly he has never been afraid to come up with an untested, new solution. Valkyrie is as close as possible to Formula 1 cars. Its technology comes directly from the Red Bull Racing Advanced Technologies works and has all the characteristics of luxury craft.

Officially the car was named Aston Martin Valkyrie, but you can also find it under the AM-RB 001 designation. The abbreviations refer to Aston Martin and Red Bull

Radical aerodynamics take over

At first glance, your attention is sure to be hooked by the unique, amazingly sophisticated aerodynamic exterior. In particular the "open floor" of the car, which appears to have been "carved out". The dream becomes reality. Valkyrie will be able to produce up to 1,814 kg of downforce under acceleration. Which means that this luxury car with a weight of around 1,000 kg will be forced down by almost double its own weight. With this downforce exceeding the weight of the vehicle itself, the new creation of Aston Martin could theoretically be also driven upside down.

Secrets hidden under the bonnet

The advanced centre drive unit takes over the F1 ideas. Its hybrid technology provides immediate acceleration. The car contains a 6.5-litre naturally-aspirated V12 engine developed by Cosworth. Which was said to be projected to produce around 1,000 hp (809 kW). The Valkyrie design contains no steel component, only carbon fibres.

Estimated price tag

Although the forthcoming hypersport by Aston Martin is still in the development stage and the first vehicles will reach their owners only in 2019, it is of course, due to the limited production, completely sold out. The estimated price is around 80 million Czech crowns.

Great plans for the future?

The Aston Martin carmaker plans aerodynamically further enhanced version, the AMR Pro, but that will be available only on the racetrack.
