During the visit to Znojmo, Petr Pavel had to wriggle out of why he doesn't like Donald Trump.

In all fairness: Petr Pavel doesn't like Trump. "I am not the Czech DonaldTrump," he hinted between the lines.

President Petr Pavel debated with students of the Secondary Vocational School Znojmo

/Comment/ Petr Pavel does not like the elected President Donald Trump. Being a president, he can't say it out loud, as he would like to and as he did during his presidential campaign. While the newly minted American president doesn't have a connection between his mouth and his brain, saying whatever comes to mind, then calmly doing something else. The Czech president bet on certain moderation, i.e. the exact opposite of the aforementioned behavior of the American eccentric.

"Czech Donald Trump," Miloš Zeman once described himself in a congratulation after the first election of Donald Trump as president, in order to ingratiate himself with him. If we stick to Zeman's vocabulary. Zeman was a lifelong civil servant, then a long-term career politician, who rehabilitated the left in the post-November Czech Republic. He has almost nothing in common with businessman Trump, who jumped into the presidential office without political experience.

Zeman tried to play on Trump's ego to invite him to a prestigious visit to the White House. Zeman's officials bragged a lot about it, but the invitation never came. Zeman liked to provoke with his adages and in this respect he was similar to Trump, with the difference that the speeches of the oldest elected American president are often quite chaotic, which did not apply to the rhetoric of Zeman.

He is a president, I am a president, Petr Pavel says about Trump

Defining himself against Zeman's style of presidency has been, and continues to be, in the DNA of Pavel's vision of the presidency. Petr Pavel is not currently trying to ingratiate himself with Trump, even though there is no doubt that he would accept an invitation to the White House. Petr Pavel's thinking is well documented in his current statement from a discussion with high school students in Znojmo.

"The citizens have chosen and for us it does not mean weakening relations with the USA. I have met him several times personally, I have seen how he behaved, what he said, I have watched how he led campaigns, how he expresses himself on various topics. I have made my opinion about him, but it is not relevant. He is a president, I am a president, and we each represent our own country,"

He tersely told the students in response to a question about the result of the American presidential election, as informed by ČTK.

Without knowledge of the context, such a statement would almost seem as if President Pavel was living in a vacuum or even had no opinions. But the opposite is true. Petr Pavel diplomatically reiterated what he had already said about non-president Trump, non-president Petr Pavel. That is, Trump is for him an "odious type". It also seemed at that time that Trumpism had ended, but now it has risen from the dead in all its glory.

Pavel came with a measured presidency, distinguishing himself from his predecessors. However, in his speeches he presents his political views. In these contexts, the newly baked American president can hardly be to his taste. One example for all.

If the Czech Republic did not join NATO, the Russians would not have one pretext for attack

In one of the last posts on the X network, the owner of this media, Ellon Musk, who spent about 120 million dollars to buy votes for Trump and has now received a new office, shared an interesting excerpt from a lecture by economics professor Jeffrey Sachs. Musk himself commented on it with the word "interesting".

What does the professor explain in his post? That the USA caused the Russian invasion of Ukraine by breaking the promise of spheres of influence to the last communist ruler of the Kremlin, Mikhail Gorbachev. If Gorbachev allows the reunification of Germany, the USA will not allow the expansion of NATO even an inch to the east, should this promise dream. As Sachs emphasizes, the Czech Republic, among others, joined NATO in 1998.

This is a popular motif of Russian propaganda, which, as befits proper propaganda, is not based on reality, however, Vladimir Putin likes to repeat this motif. No such commitment ever existed, although it is even likely that something like this came up in the negotiations. Sachs no longer recalls that since then the Soviet Union has ceased to exist, the Warsaw Pact, and for example, the Czech Republic joined NATO out of its own interest and according to NATO rules.

I am not Czech Donald Trump

Has this video unveiled what Musk is talking about with Putin, when they call each other? Putin would like to see a world where the rules are set by superpowers and small states like Ukraine or the Czech Republic follow them. Let's remember that Putin's imagination bypassed the Russian decision-making sphere someone around Prague.

Petrov Pavlov does not find these Putin's views interesting. He spent a portion of his life in a leading position in NATO and considers the Czech membership in this organization as a guarantee that our country will not experience what Ukraine is going through under Russian rockets.

A video of an American economics professor who gave interviews to the Russian television Rossija 1 in 2022, similarly to Robert Fico recently, was fortunately not shared by Donald Trump. However, his choice of collaborators is probably enough for Pavlo to feel revulsion. His terse comment simply says, "I am not the Czech Donald Trump," nothing more. Presidents use various communication twists. For example, Donald Trump referred to his opponent Kamala Harris as "bitch" and Miloš Zeman translated the word "pussy" on the radio.
