Would you like to know who's responsible for the invitation to Washington DC? The Prague Castle! The Poners were invited to the US by Indira Gumarová, wife of the Czech ambassador Hynek Kmoníček.

"The point of the event is presenting Washington DC with designers that normally wouldn't be seen there, that are somehow vastly different from standard production, and to use that to encourage the local taste and interest in fashion," says Indira Gumarová.

A bet on dazzling glitter and elegance

Due to the type of event and the place where it is held, the Poners decided to present mainly luxurious gowns covered with glitter, wedding dresses, but also more conservative dresses and skirts. They also presented accessories and shoes.

Crystal Net Preciosa in action

The models also included a dress made out of a crystal net, named likewise "Crystal Net" and created in collaboration with the Czech brand Preciosa that regularly provides the designers with precious stones and crystals for their work.

How do Jakub Poner and Nikol Ponerová remember the trip?

"We stayed at the beautiful house the Czech Embassy is situated in. Met many influential people from the international political scene and established ties with several world-renowned bloggers and jewelry makers."

Prior to their trip to the US the Poners were engaged exclusively in creating custom-made clothes. Once abroad, they realized that there was a point to collections. Thus they will newly be offering the option to order dresses for a fixed price.

The American Dream

Jakub and Nikol confessed that they are fully determined to expand abroad after this experience. Foreign media, such as the Washington Post, also reported about their fashion show. Their American Dream can therefore be closer than anyone might think...
