The afternoon featured the elegant style of women’s collections by the Imreczeova and Situationist brands, while the evening took an edgier turn.

Leather afternoon with the Situationist brand

Situationist presented a range of pieces dominated by skinny trousers contrasted by wide and long jackets and coats with very daring necklines. The frequently interesting tailoring alternated with simple and classic pieces. Leather as the primary material managed to uplift certain items, while others seemed weighed down by it.

Lukáš Macháček’s edgy style

The elegant afternoon gave way to an evening of heavier calibre with shows by Lukáš Macháček and Michael Kovacik.

Lukáš Macháček mainly focusses on men’s fashion, but the ladies weren’t disappointed this time. In addition to the actual pieces, which married street fashion and punk, we were struck by the “camouflage” worn by the models, whose faces were rendered invisible. We consider the combination of designs on the clothing and masks on the faces, which bore a recurring symbol, to be very original. Unfortunately, the great masks drew so much attention that sometimes the actual clothing remained in the background.

Michal Kovacik: Inspired by Saint Laurent?

Michael Kovacik presented a collection in which the strong influence of the Saint Laurent luxury brand is very apparent. It featured black and silver and a predominance of shiny materials. To what extent was fashion designer Kovacik inspired, and to what extent is it merely a coincidental similarity?
