Sir John, who was prime minister from 1990-1997, said that the achievements made since the collapse of the Soviet Union are now reversing - and that there is "no doubt" that Russia will soon invade somewhere else.
He said that the "ugly nationalism" that is simultaneously growing, is causing a "very uneasy time". Representatives of the USA and Russia are due to start peace talks in the coming days despite fears that European countries including Ukraine are excluded from them. Major also rejected recent criticism by US Vice President J. D. Vance towards Europe in terms of freedom of speech and suggested that these remarks should have been directed at authorities in Moscow or Beijing.
Czech Republic hit by unusually severe frosts
In the coming days, the coldest temperatures across the entire territory of the Czech Republic may occur. The mercury should especially drop at night when clearing, when it could repeatedly drop to -15 degrees Celsius. These values were already reached at a number of stations over the weekend, and a similar scenario should be repeated until Thursday night.
