Luxurious "micro mansions" for the Rich were invented in Miami. They cost "only" $ 10 million
To be a castle lord and live in a minimalistic way... Think it's impossible? Frank McKinney, a developer from Florida, will convince you the opposite is true. Well, maybe not. He invented luxury micro mansions, located near Palm Beach, that you can buy for $ 10 million. But each of us has a different opinion about what "micro" means...
The trend of minimalist buildings has already been around for quite some time. Micro apartments were the first to appear. The idea was born in the Urban Land Institute, whose architects invented apartments of the size of approximately 37 square meters with a fully functional kitchen and bathroom. These were followed by so-called tiny houses. In USA, their immense popularity inspired at least four reality shows, and you can even buy them in the Czech Republic.
A tiny house of less than 400 m2
Developer Frank McKinney has recenly come up with a similar idea, but with a twist. He targets wealthy Americans, who might be interested in buying an ultra luxurious home of about 372 square meters, located half an hour away from the famous Palm Beach. Its prospective owners should be fans of minimalistic buildings with $ 10 million to spare.
When you speak about the house as being tiny in the Czech Republic, people find it funny, because even small apartments cost a lot of money in Prague. However, the Americans like to have everything big, which means a family home of less than 400 meters is really small in their scale.
72,000 per meter
“People are willing to pay two to three thousand dollars per square meter for real estates in Miami. Unfortunately, there are no such houses in Palm Beach County. I bet those people would appreciate a small luxury home like this one,”
says McKinney about his idea. (ed. note: $ 3,000 is about 72,000 CZK, which is less than in Prague)
The first of these micro mansions should be completed by the end of the year. It will feature three bedrooms and four bathrooms. Naturally, it will be an ultra-modern house with unique design and equipment. A sun terrace situated between two pools is included in the price. Even the floor in the house will be luxurious. The antique floor will come from a galleon, a type of sailboat from the 16th century. The kitchen will be made of the so-called "sea glass" - glass that had been thrown into the sea and polished by the sea water into the form of pebbles. And the icing on the cake is the giant bedroom on the second floor with an outdoor shower. So, what do you say? Eager to move in yet?
