After the recent death of Eva Jurinová, another sad, and above all unexpected news hit the Czech Republic. At the age of 75 and after a long illness, popular actress Hana Maciuchová died in the hospital in Olomouc. She has been treated for breast cancer since 2016. The actress' sister Silvie Marková stated that the last good-byes will be said in a close family circle.
The fateful Vinohrady Theater
Hana Maciuchová was born on November 29, 1945 in Šternberk near Olomouc. Her parents were passionate theater performers and showed her the ropes of the environment up close. It's therefore not a big surprise that Hana herself fell in love with theater and acting. After graduating from high school, she went to DAMU and already during her studies, she began performing at the Za branou theater, where she later received her first professional engagement. In 1971, she joined the Vinohrady Theater, to which she remained faithful for several decades.
It was on the stage of the Vinohrady Theater that she performed in a number of notable performances, such as The Rainmaker, Crime and Punishment and Cyrano from Bergerac. She also portrayed Gertrude in the play Hamlet, which was shown at the Castle as part of Shakespeare's Summer Theater Festival.

Actress of many faces
However, the public came to know Hana Maciuchová mainly for her roles in TV series and films. Her most well-known TV shows include Fairy-tales at Krkonoše Mountains, Ulice (The Street), Chalupáři (Crofters), Žena za pultem (Woman Behind the Counter), Hospitals at the End of the City or 30 cases of Major Zeman. But we can also remember her from the film screen, mainly for her roles in Loners, Holidays for a Dog or Lucy, Terror of the Street.
Messages from her colleagues are already on their way to heaven
Hana Maciuchová was a lady with a capital L and an actress with a capital A. She will be missed by her family, friends, the public and her fans, but above all by her acting colleagues. They're sending her the following messages to heaven:
"Tears are pouring down because of the loss of a beautiful woman, a talented actress and an extremely empathetic person. Hanka, I wish you a wonderful journey to the next world. Thank you for everything!"
Czech-French actress Chantal Poullain wrote on her Instagram.
"Hanka's smile and laughter... Irreplaceable... That's such sad news. A peaceful trip to heaven, Hanka,"
presenter Honza Musil wishes the unforgettable actress to heaven.
