The water tower at Letná

Height and style that will make you dizzy Overall, the tower is 38.3 m high. It has a tented roof with a clock at the top. On the fifth floor, which is roughly at 26 meters, you can enjoy a luxurious view of our capital city. The view is even more magical thanks to the magnificent Neo-renaissance arcades.

The story began in 1888 ...

The water tower, which is situated in the Prague 7 Letná district, was completed in 1888. Architect Jindřich Fialka is the man behind this luxury project. The construction was carried out by Karel Hübschmann and František Schlaffer. The six-storey prismatic tower was connected to a water-supply complex supplying not only Holešovice, but also Bubeneč, it contained a cylindrical reservoir with an unbelievable volume of 197.10 m³ and was thus able to supply water to these localities.

Its story, however, did not last long, in 1913 its operation was terminated. Later, a base for employees was created in the tower, and it also functioned as the Prague 7 District Youth and Pioneer House. This unusually beautiful historic tower in the Neo-renaissance style is a protected monument.

The reconstructed interior of the luxury tower

The new premises of the tower and its surroundings will be mainly for children and youth, but also for commercial purposes. The social hall, which was created by replacing the water reservoir, will certainly have a loaded program. In its surroundings there is one luxury pearl in the form of an old pump from the 1980s, which originally stood or extended to the locality of Prague 2. It also received a "new face" during the reconstruction.

Go and see for yourself.
