Luxury lingerie and the iconic wings of the Victoria’s Secret angels filled the beautiful glass-roofed premises between the Seine and the Champs-Élysées, the usual location of the Chanel Fashion Show four times a year. After New York, London, Los Angeles, Miami and Cannes, it was now Paris, the city of love, which was honoured by a visit from these perfect bodies and luxury lingerie designs.
Just like every year, it was a magnificent show accompanied by live music. This year, music was provided for the show by Lady Gaga, Bruno Mars and The Weekend.
Lady Gaga wore a luxury outfit by the Parisian fashion designer Azzedine Alaia. The Weekend and Bruno Mars put on a magnificent performance accompanying the fashion show which was divided into six thematic sections: Road Ahead, Mountain Romance, Pink Nation, Secret Angel, Dark Angel and Bright Night Angel.
There was maybe more clothing than you would have expected. This year’s trend for very high boots was represented by the pair worn by Kendall Jenner, who wore a red pair of suede boots with an embroidered yellow and turquoise pattern. Complicated capes mercilessly sprayed with colour prints or made from delicate and romantic lace were used as dramatic props for the models who posed in front of the cameras capturing the spectacle for a television show which will be viewed in the coming weeks by approximately 800 million people in 190 countries all over the world. You will already be able to see the show on 5 December.
The greatest admiration was, as always, garnered by the luxury Fantasy bra worth USD 3 million (CZK 80 million). This year, the bra was worn on the perfect body of the model Jasmine Tookes who has African and Brazilian roots. The bra was created by the jeweller Eddie Borgo and he used 9,000 precious stones to make it, production taking 700 hours and the garment boasting 450 karats. For the model herself, this was one of the most powerful experiences of her entire life.
Other models to be admired at the show included: Gigi Hadid, Alessandra Ambrosio, Lily Donaldson, Lais Ribeiro and Tailor Hill.
