And that was the incentive for her new luxury collection of wedding dresses for SS 2018 to show a different dimension: they focus on sleeves and asymmetry. Forget the tradition and imagine a modern dress of new style.
Luxurious clothes for young, modern women
For every woman her wedding day is a great event; she wants to wear the most beautiful dress to take everyone´s breath away. But it does not all depend only on the dress itself, but also on every single detail, such as the sleeves, lacing, chiffon and other materials that constitute the whole. The SS 2018 collection shows long sleeves or sleeves decorated by large silk flower.
Simple, close-fitting, luxurious and embellished
In this collection you will find the most beautiful dresses; from the simplest ones, made of just one kind of fine fabric with toned-down embellishments to elaborate ones with sophisticated details and luxurious lace. A dress which is a little sad...
Almost every woman yearns for a Vera Wang dress. The absolutely unforgettable dress was the one worn by Carrie in "Sex in the City". Unfortunately the new collection is completely different. Although there is a lot of tenderness in the form of lacy sleeves, in the end the overall impression seems to me somewhat depressing.
A dress for a vampire bride and or a maiden who must marry someone she doesn´t want. And so she chooses the saddest dress in the shop. The only dress I like is a close-fitting one with long sleeves, exposed back and some flower application below the shoulder. Sufficiently appropriate for a modern sophisticated wedding in the middle of the city.
Vera Wang stated that she felt frustrated which is nowadays interpreted as romantic. In my opinion, her frustration was perfectly reflected in the collection and it also seems to me that she slightly confuses the concepts of romance and romanticism.
