All day in a bikini, relaxing on a lounger on the beach. That's how the days looked like for the Czech beauties who decided to leave our covid reality and, at least for a while, fly to a better place. The Maldives has long been a very popular destination, but during the pandemic, it became a hit. The ban on travel outside the Czech Republic doesn't apply to this island in the Indian Ocean. Thousands of Czechs have therefore chosen the Maldives as their holiday destination, Eva Perkausová, Veronika Kopřivová and Taťána Makarenko among them.
Presenter Eva Perkausová visited the romantic island with her boyfriend Ivan Heck at the beginning of February. And according to her Instagram, the couple had a great time. Sunbathing on the beach, long breakfasts, paddleboarding or wakeboarding. They enjoyed the fabulously rich program at Cocoon Maldives, a resort located 150 km north of Male Airport, which is about a 35-minute seaplane flight. Local villas, restaurants and bars were designed by the Italian designer LAGO, who combined the natural beauty of the Maldives with Italian design. The presenter enjoyed her vacation in a modern villa overlooking the sea. Part of the resort is the Octopus Restaurant, where guests can sample world cuisine. There is also a wine cellar, because a selection of wines from around the world is sure to liven up any vacation.
"We were supposed to fly back to Prague today. However, we were told out that one of our coronavirus tests came back positive. We are shocked, because we've actually replenished some energy here, so the information caught us unprepared,"
Perkaus told CNN Prima News. One night for two people in the Coocon resort costs about 11 thousand crowns. That means that the three weeks of vacation cost the presenter more than 200,000 crowns.
Another celebrity "provoking" with her photos from the Maldives was the Miss Czech Republic CEO, Taťána Makarenko. She left the Czech Republic on March 17, naturally in big style. She wouldn't be caught dead travelling in Economy Class. The model flew with Quatar Airways, and even took a 40-minute flight in a seaplane for the very first time during her vacation. She was thrilled about the trip and the care she received from the airport staff. A speedboat took her to Fushifaru Island. There, a private villa with a swimming pool and an open-air bathroom was waiting for the model and her boyfriend Martin. For ten days in private accommodation with a view of the sunset, they paid about 150 thousand crowns, which probably paid off for the model, because her fans could enjoy plenty of her photos in a swimsuit by the pool! According to Taťána, her boyfriend was worried at first that there would be nothing to do in the Maldives. But the 10 days flew past faster than they'd expected. What she enjoyed the most was a boat trip to a small island, where a romantic dinner for two was prepared. They paid 7,000 crowns for the two hours of privacy.
Makarenko admitted that if you want to enjoy a truly luxurious vacation, you have to pay extra. Personally, she spent extra money on breakfast in the pool (3 thousand crowns) or on fishing (11 thousand crowns).
The Czech designer Nikol Poner was also tired of the Czech winter. At the beginning of February, she ran away to the Maldives together with the 31st richest Czech, Martin Vohánka. She showed off her body in a bikini at the five-star You & Me resort, located on Raa Atoll in the north of the Maldives. One night in a romantic apartment costs about 12 thousand crowns. The beach apartment has a luxurious and rustic touch, a beautiful bathroom with a bathtub for two and a rain shower. The king-size bed offers a view of the beach, and so does the terrace with a private pool.
What the young designer definitely didn't underestimate was a selection of swimsuits! She brought an entire collection along.
"My brother and I have designed several types of swimwear, both one-piece and two-piece, so I was well-equipped in the Maldives,"
said Poner. The greatest experience for her was a visit to the famous underwater restaurant "You & Me", which is part of the resort. The restaurant is fully submerged and offers guests a 360-degree view of the breathtaking Maldives marine environment. The underwater restaurant is famous for its first-class seafood.
Veronika Kopřivová, the ex-girlfriend of Jaromír Jágr, also got to enjoy one of the most relaxing places on the planet. Together with model Miroslav Dubovický, she relaxed in a private villa on the island of Hurawalhi of Lhaviyani Atoll, which is about 400 meters long and 165 meters wide. The villa has an open-air pool overlooking the white sandy beaches. Hurawalhi Island Resort provides a wide range of entertaining and health activities, such as Duniye Spa - a spa with a rich selection of relaxation procedures. For two weeks in the luxury resort, the couple paid about 210 thousand crowns.
"The dinner at the underwater restaurant was a beautiful and unforgettable experience. Colourful fish, sharks, manta rays, tuna, we saw a lot of things,"
Patricia Pagáčová and her husband flew to Thulhagiri Island at the beginning of February for 10 days. The resort is located on Kaafu Atoll in northern Male. The actress and her husband paid about 70 thousand crowns for their accommodation. She says that the Maldives are absolutely amazing, but she feels no need to go there again because she prefers a livelier vacation.
“Little wonders. (trans. note: the word "the Maldives" translates as "little wonders" in Czech) For me, the Maldives is a truly beautiful paradise, which we know from movies. We couldn't have chosen a better destination for doing nothing, but at the same time it is a destination that I was very happy to see, but I don't need to go back to. We need to move from place to place a little when on vacation,”
the actress wrote on her Instagram. It was the last holiday in two for them, since it was in the Maldives where they announced the good news that they were expecting a baby.
And what about you? Have you already been on holiday somewhere or are you planning a vacation? Haven't you thought about the Maldives?
