Friday the 13th will forever be recorded in luxury film history. On April 13th, 2018, Oscar-winning director Miloš Forman passed away († 86). He departed surrounded by his family and was also buried this way.
The wives of Miloš Forman
For the past 23 years, his last wife, writer Martina Formanová (52), was at his side. However, she was not the only wife in his life. He was fated to three women with whom he twice had twins.
The first big love was actress Jana Brejchová (78), whom he met when shooting the film Štěnata (Puppies). The year was 1957, she moved in with him and he soon proposed. They were married in 1958, but Forman spent a lot of time in the theater, where he succumbed to the magic of a ballet dancer and Brejchová divorced him.
He met actress Věra Křesadlova (74) when shooting the film Konkurs (Audition) at the Semafor theater. Only after the actress found out she was pregnant did Forman marry her in 1964. The first twins were born. Sons Petr and Matěj (53), who are actors and have their own theater. For example, their artistic project Ship of the Forman Brothers is well known. Both sons speak Czech and live in the Czech Republic. Miloš and Věra only officially divorced thirty-five years later, when each of them was already living their own separate lives.
He met the beautiful model Martina Zbořilová (52) when she was a student of film science. Martina had a year to submit her diploma thesis at FAMU and she arranged a meeting with director Forman to help her. The year was 1995 and Martina fell in love with the great director. In 1998, twins Andy and Jim were born (19). They both prefer sport over art, they don't speak Czech very well and live in Connecticut. Forman named them after comedians Jim Carrey and Andy Kaufman. A year later, the director divorced Věra Křesadlová and, in the same year, he married Zbořilová, now Formanová.
Miloš Forman: one of the greatest film legends
The Czech-born director of the Oscar films Amadeus and One Flew over the Cuckoo's Nest was one of the greatest film legends. In his collection there were two Oscars, three Golden Globes and awards from the Cannes and Berlin festivals. He directed Hollywood stars such as Jack Nicholson, Jim Carrey and Woody Harrelson. Miloš Forman visited the Czech Republic in 2009, when he introduced his latest film at the Karlovy Vary Festival, a recording of the theater performance A Well Paid Walk. Later on, his health condition did not allow him to travel.
Famous actors remember the director with respect and humility. Among them are Antonio Banderas, Meg Tilly, Danny DeVito, Courtney Love, directors Ron Howard and Joe Dante. The last farewell took place on Sunday in Warren, USA, where he lived. The ceremony, according to widow Martina Formanová, was held in the closed circle of his closest family.
