This may not come to you as a surprise, but the best restaurant in the world can be found in France. In the harbor town of Menton, there‘s an establishment called Mirazur. In addition to the beautiful view of the Mediterranean Sea, you may be stunned by the simple interior. As the saying goes, sometimes less is more, and it‘s particularly true where design is concerned. In addition to holding three Michelin stars, Mirazur also boasts its own farm and orchards, renowned for their citrus fruits.

Master chef Mauro Colagreca with Italian roots strives to offer guests a truly exceptional experience through his meals. The tasting menu the restaurant offers changes every day, so you‘ll never have same meal twice. What lands on your plate, however, is always a bit of a secret. Master chef Mauro swears by seafood, herbs, vegetables and fruits.

A Michelin burger

Another best restaurant in the world can be found in Denmark. The establishment, which bears the name Noma, is run by master chef René Redzepi, who is absolutely not afraid to try and discover new methods in the kitchen. Thanks to their visionary approach to cooking, Noma has already won the title of the Best Restaurant in the World four times in the past. If you visit this establishment, you‘ll find yourself surrounded by a simple Scandinavian interior. The restaurant offers three tasting menus a year, each featuring about twenty courses. The meals are selected based on the best ingredients available during the season.

From 8 January to 13 June, you can enjoy the seafood season here. From 7 July to 19 September, on the other hand, you‘ll be surprised by the vegetable season, during which you can taste the best crops grown at the local farm. In the last season, from October to December, meat plays a crucial role in Noma. For one seasonal menu, you‘ll pay 2,650 Danish crowns, which is almost ten thousand crowns. If you feel like trying one of the seasonal menus and you‘re thinking of heading here once the borders have opened, you better make your booking now. Sometimes, one has to wait several months for a table.

Do you think that ten thousand crowns for a menu is too much? According to the latest information, even the management reassessed the current financial situation of their guests. Due to the pandemic crisis, this luxury restaurant included a completely unusual offer in their menu, namely an "ordinary" hamburger. Although it is, according to the chef, prepared from organic products and exclusively from fresh ingredients, you‘ll pay only 450 Czech crowns for it. Noma also offers a vegetarian or vegan variant of hamburger. That sounds much better, right? Taking home a burger from a restaurant that boasts two Michelin stars can be quite a treat.

And finally, we‘ll take you to Spain. The stone-decorated Asador Etxebarri restaurant seems relaxed and friendly at first glance. Chef Victor Arguinzoniz prepares his food mainly on the grill. Yes, all the courses, even desserts, smell of smoke from the fire. The experience menu, which doesn‘t include drinks, will cost you around 198 euros, which is over five thousand crowns.
