Tolik prostoru a jen pro mě...

In this day and age when money makes the world go round, it is possible to book accommodation almost anywhere. On a ship, on an airplane, on a tree, in a desert... whatever comes up on your mind. But to stay in a luxury palace shared with the royal family, booked through the world wide used application Airbnb? Unfortunately, we're not talking about Queen Elizabeth II of England - she might have allowed Harry to leave the royal family, but that's about as far as she gets when it comes to free thinking. We mean the Royal Palace in the Indian city of Jaipur.

Just one click and the amount of money on your credit card will shrink considerably, but you can start packing your pajamas. Of course, the price goes up or down by a few thousand from month to month, depending on the season.

Three hundred years old City Palace Royal family is at your disposal immediately. According to Airbnb, the money extracted from the reserves goes to a foundation that supports disadvantaged communities in the state of Rajasthan in northern India.

The chosen guests

The residence, which is still home to the royal family, was built in 1727 by Maharaja Jay Sinh II, the founder of the city of Jaipur. Famous personalities such as Princess Diana, Oprah Winfrey, Bill Clinton or Jackie Kennedy were all at one point staying in the palace.

A part of the palace previously accessible only to the royal family and its guests opened to ordinary mortals at the end of last year.

The luxurious Gudlidja Suite consists of a living room, a kitchen, a bedroom and a bathroom. Moreover, guests have a private swimming pool and personal butler service at their dispisal.

You'll get a free tour

The role of the host was assumed by the 21-year-old Maharaja Padmanabh Sinh. Although India is now a democratic republic, tradition is tradition. The royal family still has a privileged place here.

"I am excited that my family and me partnered with Airbnb to bring the splendor of Rajasthan into the lives of travelers from all around the world,"

the unusual host stated in his announcement.

"Thanks to my travels with Airbnb, I have always felt very welcome in new cities and cultures, and I am glad to be able to share the typical Indian hospitality with others,"

he added.

A chauffeur-driven car will take the guests from the airport to the palace, where a private butler will be ready to take over the respobsibility. The visitors will enjoy a tour through the large palace complex. Should they wish to actually leave its walls during their stay, an escort will be taking care of them even while shopping, acting as a guide and showing them the city with its museums.
