The SS 18 collection provides a show of minimalistic leather versions and also original items covered in embroidery and patterns. The exclusive rainbow collection, which creates a Bohemian chic, celebrates the power of colours and defines the wealth of Etro’s eclectic heritage. Eclecticism is distinguished by use of various materials and a combination of colours and even though it may seem that this creates a crazy disparity, the opposite is true. Etro SS 18 consists of many items distinguished by their absolute sense for detail and harmony.
You can choose from stylish crossbody bags, deluxe shoulder bags of standard sizes or practical shopper bags, which all your essentials will certainly fit into, from the newest collection.
Fans of minimalism will certain appreciate the monochromatic items in shades of black, white, yellow, fuchsia, orange, blue or light pink for instance. But a similarly extensive range is also on offer for fans of bolder patterns – floral, animal (zebra, snake or an elephant motif on circus style models), paisley or embroidery.
The most expensive item is the embroidered rainbow shoulder bag, which you can buy for EUR 1,850. This deluxe velvet bag is embellished with a mixture of carpet embroidery and closures on the front section bearing the “E” symbol, which characterises the brand. The shoulder strap, also embellished with embroidery, is removable using retro-style clips.
As well as deluxe bags, the exclusive rainbow collection also includes purses, which are usually monochromatic and only several selected items are embellished with floral or oriental patterns or leopard print.
Are you interested in the current SS 18 Rainbow collection, or do you consider eclecticism a show of disparity?
A Bohemian style spiced with a pinch of the orient. This is exactly the impression that the ETRO SS 18 collection gives in my opinion. To tell you the truth this is not really my style at first glance, but on the other hand there are a few items that I would like to have at home just because the style is distinctive and unique.
I quite liked the green bag with the silver-gold embroidery. I don’t usually go for green, but this bag pulls me like a magnet. I think that every women who picks this bag will seem a little like an adventurer from the Belle Époque. And the multi-functionality! This bag will certainly be big enough for a bigger purse stuffed with cards, and even a Chihuahua puppy. Which I think is a great plus! You never know what will happen and what you will bring home with you.
What I don’t like is the black bag covered with varicoloured flowers. It reminds me of traditional Chodov pottery from the south of Bohemia and folklore in this sense is really not my cup of tea.
