It combines sporty elements with a light futuristic look and celebrates a sustainable future. The luxury successor to the well-known Škoda Rapid is a remarkable concept with plug-in hybrid drive and use of vegan materials.
Its design is innovative, the dynamics are created by sharply cut lines accompanied by smooth surfaces. Škoda Vision RS carries the racing genes that the model gained over 117 years of motor sport history. The luxury interior also reflects a sporting spirit with a strong sense of futuristic design.
Carbon fabrics made from 100% recycled polyester are used on the upper part of the Alcantara®-covered seats, with a Czech flag on the side rests celebrating the birth of Czechoslovakia 100 years ago. Another example of sustainability are floor mats that use Piñatex in a carbon bond. This is a high-performance pineapple fiber material, which is slowly being discovered, for example, by designers and fashion designers, see the article: LUCIELA TASCHEN: The Czech brand manufactures handbags from pineapple leaves!
The luxury Škoda Vision RS plug-in hybrid combines a 1.5-liter TSI with a power output of 110 kW and an electric motor with a power of 75 kW. They unite to provide a performance of 180 kW (245 hp), which allows the car to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.1 seconds. The car emits just 33g of CO2 per kilometer.
Powered by a battery, it can travel 70 km, providing a short zero-emission drive. A lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 13 kWh can be charged in 2.5-hours by cable at the charging station. Alternatively, it can be plugged into any household socket.
The car manufacturer is planning to launch this luxury addition into sale in the first half of 2019 at a price of 1,189,900 CZK.
