The luxury show began with an edgy white collection which impressed us right from the very start. Puffy sleeves with loose-fitting trousers look like a jumpsuit for a flight into space and the elegant overalls are the same. Emphasis is also placed here on transparent lace, which does however come across in a decent and innocent manner. Threadbare shirts, mini dresses, patterned denim, a double jacket tucked into loose trousers and also use of sporty details all give the collection a definite luxury pizzazz.
The designer Kaia Gerber used a fresh summer breeze in the SS 2018 collection. Beautiful, pleasant and luxurious materials make an appearance here with iconic summer details. One of these is a light white blouse with frills and other features.
Inspiration was found somewhere between a disco club and the beach. The seventies saw the appearance of crocheted swimsuits, layering, denim jackets in combination with dresses, with a shiny and metallic material. Then more extravagant and possibly more interesting items came with the collections.
You will fall in love at first sight with the metallic-look jumpsuits, perfect to wear to a party. Distinct colours with a sporty touch and various revealing designs: the models look irresistible. The light blouses and shorts are also pleasant. You will find details in the collection which are reminiscent of water sports clothing. Simply put, there is something for everyone here!
This is exactly the impression given to us by the luxury collection by Isabel Marant, showing us modern fashion, but not starchy trends. The main thing here is freedom, airiness and occasionally also a large dose of extravagance.
We were of course also impressed by the last part of the show in which we were presented with very elegant, sexy and refined designs, suitable not only for parties, but also to wear to a luxury dinner.
The S/S 2018 fashion collection by Isabel Marant seemed to me to be an apparition from the 80s. I know that officially this concerns fashion from the 70s, but I just don’t think that puffy mega sleeves like that fit in the seventies.
I liked the waft of white tenderness at the start. I would take the crocheted white swimsuit with me to the beach in Cannes at the drop of a hat and the white minidress for the beach to go with it. But the rest? Belts with a plastic buckle remind me of those old belts on children’s winter all-in-ones which I hated: that is really not what I call luxury!
In the end I really did see those all-in-ones at the show in a version for women! For the love of God, why??? Are we going to play at being in Harrachov in 1983? Please. I really don’t want to see that sort of thing ever again!
