The Prague Market is being revamped! This is what it will look like after the 3 billion reconstruction!

While shopping in the Prague Market, you must have noticed that these listed premises are in a very poor condition and you may have thought that it wouldn't hurt if the market got a new facade or better toilets. The capital city of Prague decided to grant the people of Prague their wish and came up with a proposal for a complete transformation.

"There will be shops and boutiques, markets, restaurants and small bistros here, as well as spaces for culture. And also beautiful outdoor areas, where you can sit down for a while with ice cream in your hand. We are already taking the first steps so that life can gradually return to the market. We want to open the market to people of all ages and income categories and at the same time ensure its economically sustainable operation in the future,"

The renovation of the complex will cost the city almost three billion crowns. Thanks to the significant change that the complex is about to undergo, the Prague Market will become a match for the industrial complexes in Copenhagen or Madrid. Currently, the city is waiting for a building permit, but you don't have to worry that the complex will be closed. The market will remain in operation for its visitors even during the reconstruction.

More greenery, more peace

In addition to the overall transformation of individual buildings and public spaces, the area will be enriched with new architectural elements and the capacity of parking spaces will also be increased. The new Prague Market will be divided into several zones, enabling you to pursue various activities. You'll be able to go to the supermarket, have a lunch or share a good drink with friends. A children's center will be prepared to take in the little ones and culture enthusiasts will have an opportunity to go to the theater. Moreover, seventy trees will newly be planted across the area. The greenery will be irrigated using collected rainwater. The central promenade will also be reconstructed, so you'll be able to refresh yourself or read a book on a bench in the shade under the trees.
