Philipp Plein Resort 2019: Inspired by brash Alexis Colby from the legendary Dynasty series
The designer invited guests to his luxurious villa in Cannes.
The German fashion designer revealed the deluxe collection at his magnificent two-storey villa in Cannes, which also has a swimming pool. Guests were therefore able to spend the time waiting for the show by admiring the exotic garden full of banana trees and palms. Is there any better place to present Resort 2019?

The legendary lightening bolt of David Bowie alias Ziggy Stardust
The sign at the entrance announcing “Philipp Plein Dynasty”, framed by enormous Ziggy Stardust – the alter ego of David Bowie – lightening bolts, appeared to say that this journey would be wild. Some of the models also had this motif on their faces during the deluxe show. David Bowie accompanied guests throughout the show and his famous hit Rebel Rebel could be heard during it.
The Resort 2019 recipe: A dose of glam rock, a pinch of brash Alexis Colby and a drop of pink!
The inspiration gained from the iconic television drama Dynasty from the nineteen eighties was reflected in the collection in the form of stylish glam rock and bold sexy designs. Alexis Colby’s brash behaviour is reflected in the leopard and snake motifs, the leather suits, seductive minis, glossy suits, biker jackets, thigh-high boots or the unusual deluxe evening dresses. The playful pink hairstyle look from the nineteen seventies also injected an element of history into the collection, along with the legendary Dynasty.

Star models Winnie Harlow, Sara Sampaio or the Australian beauty with exotic roots Shanina Shaik starred in the deluxe show by Philipp Plein. Experienced “angel” Alessandra Ambrosio also took part. The Brazilian model may have said NO to Victoria’s secret for next year, but she still dared to present the boldest model out of the entire Resort 2019 collection by Philipp Plein this year!

Spectators were open-mouthed in amazement at how much beauty and sexual charge can be fitted into one show in a blooming garden.
A gold trouser suit worn without underwear, with a Ziggy Stardust lightening bolt: that’s what I call amazing! We have had enough of the various mini dresses for parties, if you wear trousers you will not only be sexy, but you will stand out from the crowd. And I think that’s a great advantage! And then we have the perfectly fitted wine red dress with the subtly undone split. This is exactly the type of dress that you can wear when you have to attend an event during “those days of the month”. The dress will pull a bloated stomach in and the wearer can be a star in spite of any inner discomfort.
You probably expect some criticism now, but I will probably surprise you: I don’t see anything to criticise here. And so I have chosen another sexy model to praise. Definitely the sparkling swimsuit with the lace dressing gown, worn by top model Alessandra Ambrosio. Of course it’s a little too much to wear to the lake at home, but its ideal when visiting the Les Palmiers beach club in St. Tropez, with its non-stop partying!
