The house enchanted them so much that they didn't hesitate to withdraw a considerable amount of money from their account. The couple seems to be perfectly prepared for the coming summer!

Bill Gates has expanded his rich real estate collection by adding a luxury beach house in Del Mar, California, not far from San Diego. Although Gates is known to be - and presents himself as - a relatively modest man with his heart in the right place (he donated most of his wealth), when it comes to houses, he likes to indulge in luxury. Proof of this is his new mansion full of unique architectural elements. You can marvel at the wooden roof inspired by Iceland, the special glass wall, the marble floors or the stone outdoor furniture.

The large house spanning over an area of 540 square meters features six bedrooms, four bathrooms, a kitchen, a dining room and it also includes two separate residential houses. But what will really take your breath away is the amazing view of the sea. You can look straight at the ocean from the living room and several other rooms - what a luxury! The residence boasts spa services, a hot tub for ten people, a swimming pool, a tennis court and a greenhouse. You'll find here pretty much everything you can think of. The Gates family can make their time here more enjoyable in a small cinema, which is comparable in quality to the Cinestar cinema. And last but not least: the house uses smart technologies in household, which means that the owners can precisely control the individual elements such as temperature, floor heating or lights.

Luxury, real estate and insane amounts of money
If you think such a gem must have cost a fortune, you're absolutely right. Gates paid about 1.1 billion crowns for the residence. The influential couple currently residing in Washington, D.C., also owns a ranch in Southern California, which they bought for a little under half a billion crowns. They bought a farm in Westchester for their daughters, which amounts to 409 million crowns, and an apartment in New York for 128 million crowns.
