Olivier Rousteing´s Universe Balmain in Paris Dazzled by its Metallic SS19 Collection
There were no great names this time round
Stellar names such as Alessandra Ambrosio or Natalia Vodianova were quite absent from the catwalk, but that did not take away anything from Balmain´s brilliant show! The Paris Fashion Week presented equally popular Cara Delevingne and the luxury French fashion brand presented a collection, which is tender, feminine and universally sensuous at the same time.

For over seven years now, Olivier Rousteing has been in the position of Balmain´s creative director and by his SS19 luxury collection he once again confirmed that he is unquestionably the right man for the job. The Balmain models are traditionally carried out in unmistakable style, yet the talented young designer regularly comes up with something new and original.
Luxurious play with metallic fashion
We have seen how the Balmain brand in the past enjoyed working with holographic PVC, bold tassels, netting, or for example frills. In the latest SS19 collection you can admire the play of Olivier Rousteing with metallic fashion and metals.
Dazzle them all!
Luxurious Balmain presented a dazzling mini as well as evening dresses, overalls and stylish shorts trimmed by silver belts and bracelets which evoke sci-fi fashion of the future. And where there is a lack of belts and bracelets, there Olivier Rousteing applied sensuous metallic corsets, sexy above-the-knee boots, delicate high heel shoes or chic clutch bags. So how will you be in according to Balmain? You have to add a bit of sparkle!
In the spirit of asymmetries and chic cut-through designs
The SS19 collection plays about with asymmetry, cut-through ideas, deep décolletages, and transparent fabrics. In addition, Olivier Rousteing comes up with women´s eveningwear trousers, which hit the bull´s eye. In combination with refined tops and next to the mini pieces they look fresh and timeless.
Balmain again managed to amaze us by the SS19 luxury collections SS19, and that´s why we hope that Olivier Rousteing is to remain seated in the director´s chair for at least a few seasons more!

Beautiful, genuine, full of creativity!
Balmain´s creative director, Olivier Rousteing belongs firmly among the best in his business. His unsurpassed imagination and ability to then translate it into reality is almost unbelievable. SS19? We will, we will ROCK YOU!
Personally, I was most interested in the dress which could be called "cosmic". It is interlinking of many geometric forms which created a perfect whole. The mirror-like sparkling long sleeve suddenly changes into gentle menthol tone and the whole is connected by one giant metallic belt. Although I cannot very well imagine how comfy it will be to sit down in it, but that is in this case simply not the point! Here it is about aesthetics and artistic statement, which will impress even those who normally resist any recognition of merit of high fashion. In short; a dress for the main star of the evening!
Since I have not seen in the entire collection any model which I would evaluate negatively, I will praise the SS19 to the very end. I will say it clearly: the sea-shell dress. Yes, it is puffed up, but just so, so as to perfectly show of slender legs of its wearer, with her remaining the treasured pearl. My goodness it is so perfectly elegant and balanced… BRAVO!!!
