Self-confident, stylish, sexy. That’s the kind of woman that wears the luxurious outfits from Escada’s latest collection. While in the past, the brand focussed on simple and elegant designs, classic materials and modest colours, it has now taken an entirely new direction. The luxurious SS19 collection is a showcase of fresh colours and tender fun!
The latest collection was introduced on the premises of the Park Avenue Armory cultural non-profit organisation. The runway was decorated by artificial grass, the walls with white boards with colourful patterns that evoked the impression of a picket fence, and dynamic music brought a load of sensuality to the entire show.
The luxurious SS19 consists not only of charming minimalist outfit, like the mustard-orange suit with Capri trousers and jacket, the black pantsuit with a brooch on the chest or the beige polka-dot midi dress, which we fell in love with at first glance – but also outfits full of unconventional materials and playful combinations.
Escada placed its bet on shiny satin and silk. These were the materials which the brand most often combined with others to create original fashion variants. The SS19 collection has no lack of casually tucked shirts, leather jackets with striking appliques worn over romantic floral dresses or sporty elegance in the form of seductive mini dresses, jackets, sneakers and layers. Gone are the times when it was unthinkable for Escada to slip on a pair of sneakers with an elegant suit!
Is Escada looking to expand its clientele? Does it want to return to its roots, or is it simply looking for new ways and methods? Whatever the case, one thing is certain: it’s taken a step in the right direction!
At the start of the show, one mumbled to one’s self “it will just be an array of stripy sweaters and buttons again…” But in the end it was a show that keeps up perfectly with other fashion houses.
At first glance, I was thrilled by the white silk outfit consisting of a shirt and shorts decorated with a jumping horse and rider motif (it reminds me a bit of the perfect elegance of the Hermès brand). Naturally, I admit I was influenced by the fact that I am a horse-rider myself. Nevertheless, I really like the airiness and above all the knotted solution of the loose sleeves. A perfect affair whether one is rushing to work or is going out for a family lunch at Family Hotel Okoř with a tour of the castle.
Finally, I have to mention those delightful Capri trousers with red polka-dots, perfectly matched with the light blue stripy men’s style shirt. The mini purse with a green heart across the chest, simple makeup brightened up with red lipstick… WOW! This is precisely the breath of fresh air that you have to have in your wardrobe after a long winter.
