A bit of history
In 1861, the wood-bending technology that fascinates the world to this day was born in the foothills of the Beskydy mountains in Bystřice pod Hostýnem. The foundations of the craft have survived to this day, and only the design and colour palette have changed. Michael Thonet and his sons set forth into the undiscovered field of bending wood to manufacture furniture. The famous Chair No. 18 is still in the production repertoire. Not even the post-war crisis slowed the company down, and nationalisation merely changed its management without losing its creative potential.
In 2003, the company logo with the iconic Model No. 14 became final.

The beauty of everything things stands at the birth of everything. Even a chair, which offers rest to the body, tired legs and support for a sore back, can be luxurious and marvellous. TON managed to discover beauty in simple lines. In its one-hundred-year history, it has created a countless number of examples, such as the chairs designed by Josef Hoffmann, chair and armchair No. 811. Of more contemporary products, we cannot omit the Merano armchair, the most successful model since 1994.
Breakthrough year 2015
The collection of chairs called Split arrives on the market under the TON brand, presenting a new technological trick: the splitting of solid wood bent by hand in opposite directions. This revolutionary technological advance was lauded with a Red Dot award!
TON goes to Milan
The Chips lounge chair by Czech designer Lucie Koldové hopes to deceive the eyes of visitors and potential customers at the highly prestigious Salone del Mobile trade fair in Milan. The massive armchair is full of contradictions. Lightness is ensured by the backrest, shaped like a bamboo leaf, while solidity is provided by the seat. All crafted in premium quality to offer a luxurious sitting experience. The company’s portfolio at the trade fair also includes the Chop and Ink tables, the Anix conference desks, the Dowel sofa, the Leaf barstool and the Ironica chair in bar format.
