The winner Martin Kohout gets the chance to participate in the next fashion week
Young designers Jan Smejkal, Martin Kohout, Dominika Kozáková and Katerína Mydliarová made it all the way to the final. They created luxurious models worthy of experienced designers, and there was truly plenty to look at! Although the luxury collections of all four young designers were maximally original and creative, only one could win. The winner was Martin Kohout, who heard his name announced by veteran designer Liběna Rochová, and in addition to the financial prize also won the chance to participate in the next fashion week. Dominika Kozáková opted for bright colours and playful accessories
Dominika Kozáková was the first to present her collection. She opted for bright colours, which she wasn’t afraid to incorporate even into the men’s wardrobe. Her outfits are full of patterns, appliques and playful accessories.
Jan Smejkal stuck to earthy tones and minimalism
Designer Jan Smejkal stuck to earthy tones and created a luxurious collection of rather looser cuts, sometimes adding belts to achieve the desired highlighting of the silhouette. The collection features airy trousers with wide legs, overalls, dresses, leather men’s vests and light jackets.
Katarína Mydliarová competed with the most extravagant outfits
Was the Slovak designer inspired by Britney Spears and her single Oops!... I Did It Again? This was the first thing that occurred to us when looking at the red shiny catsuit, which looks exactly the same as the one in the video. Katerína Mydliarová’s collection was by far the most extravagant, and some of the looks were almost terrifying.
Martin Kohout was not afraid of a touch of erotica and presented the beauty of the female body
The last show was in fact the winner. The young designer opened his luxurious show with a plastic outfit, the rear part of which was entirely transparent, offering the audience a rather unexpected view. Martin Kohout reached for unusual materials in his collection, and created luxurious garments of highly unusual shapes.

Martin Kohout rightfully deserves the award
The young designer named Martin Kohout dominated the category of Junior Talent of the Year 2018, and based on what all his colleagues presented (the fluke of a red latex catsuit and worn knickers), he won the award deservedly. He was the only one to stick to elegance and minimalism, and it literally paid off!
I personally liked the longer white dress with the ruffled sleeves and absolutely original shoes. I love the touch of purity/transparency, underscored by the lightest of makeup, which the model presenting the outfit had on.
I am already looking forward to what this youngster prepares for next year. And I recommend that you ladies take a look at his work. Because evening dresses of those shapes are suitable not just for parties, but also for business meetings, not just in downtown Prague. Go for it, Martin!
