A notable exhibition, held on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the brand, represents an extensive collection of luxury Ferrari cars. Come to the London Design Museum and see the 70 years of passion and the incredible story that was began by a bunch of car enthusiasts and mainly the skilful engineers and designers.
The Design Museum in London has opened the door to the public so that we too may admire the specialised exhibits, predominantly loaned from the museum of Ferrari cars in the Italian town of Maranello. The luxury Ferrari Exhibition entitled "Under the Skin" represents a large collection of 70 classic as well as current Ferrari vehicles, following, as it does, the entire development of the brand, in particular its aesthetic beauty from the first to the latest model. The unbelievable cars have are valued at 140 million pounds. A fairytale price, isn´t it?
Which beautiful vehicles are worth seeing? Clearly, Ferrari F1-2000 and Ferrari F1-2000 and Sir GT Sterling Moss 250 GT Berlinetta passo corto. In addition to the luxury cars there may also be seen exhibits of the original sketches, designs of models, handwritten letters of Enzo Ferrari himself and trophies obtained from numerous racing disciplines. Separately-displayed engines give an impression of futuristic sculptures. Visitors will also get a chance to view photos of the famous celebrities that possessed these beautiful cars (Miles Davis, Clint Eastwood, Peter Sellers, Sammy Davis Jr and Brigitte Bardot) and at least imagine getting closer to the most famous rider riders of the Ferrari stable, Michael Schumacher.
The holy grail here is considered the luxury Ferrari 250 GTO. The name is derived from the volume of each cylinder; GTO stands for Gran Turismo Omologato (in Italian "Certified for GT Racing”), which belongs to the most valuable collectors´ jewels. Its value reaches 100 million crowns. Would you like to own such a car?
"It's not all about celebrating the power the brand, this exhibition is a serious attempt to understand what makes Ferrari special in terms of design. I think that I am speaking on behalf of millions of ambitious people of all ages, when I say that we have dreamed at least once that we own a Ferrari. The brand itself has become a worldwide symbol of design success, whether it concerns their road models or the Grand Prix machines."
This luxurious exhibition will certainly get under your skin, too!
