The movie night at Prague's Rudolfinum was dominated by Jiří Mádl's film Waves, which took home six statues and became the king of this year's Czech Lion. Among the winners were also shining for example Simona Lewandowská, Táňa Pauhofová, Oldřich Kaiser or Pavla Beretová. However, on the red carpet, there was a struggle for a different triumph. Who attracted the most attention and who, on the other hand, was a fashion flop? Let's have a look at that.

Lenka Vlasáková

The actress showed everyone that even in your fifties you can look like a complete diva! The dress from designer Lukáš Macháček, adorned with glass crystals from the Rückl workshop, was a great choice. Not only did the dress fit her perfectly, but the cleverly designed neckline did not reveal anything that should be concealed and looked very tasteful. Velvet added luxury to the dress, which is welcome at such events. Vlasáková was undoubtedly the star of the evening.

Jana Plodková

The actress chose a very simple robe with maximum effect. She shone on the red carpet in a pure white robe, which relies on minimalism and perfect cut. A smooth silhouette, a delicate shiny gloss of the fabric and slightly structured details on the shoulders give the dress a subtle, but sophisticated touch. She completed the whole look with loose waves and natural make-up, emphasizing her characteristic and modern appearance. Plodková once again proved that less is sometimes more, and defended her sense for fashion.

Jan Nedbal

The actor arrived at the awards with his partner. Both surprised that even in the Czech show business one can dress like at the world Oscars award ceremony. Nedbal chose a suit from the workshop of designer Michael Kováčik, who prides himself on modern cuts. Even though the dress code was Black Tie, this look is more than fitting. Film awards are also about stars showing off in something new and out of the ordinary, which the actor fulfilled with all of his might. I think this outfit has become an inspiration for many.

Elizabeth Ferencová

The actress and singer, who performs under the stage name Zea, performed at the awards ceremony. Despite not being so well known in the Czech showbiz yet, which is a great pity, she arrived on the red carpet in Hollywood style. Her dress, hairstyle and make-up were absolutely top-notch. If every celebrity dressed like this, it would immediately be a better sight. However, this is probably not going to happen, so it's great to see that young people are not afraid of it, and that there are those who follow global trends and are not afraid of them. I applaud!

Jiří Lábus

As is usually the case with actors, he disappointed again. He arrived at the Rudolfinum presentation dressed as if he was going out for a festive Sunday lunch. At such gala events, the dress code Black Tie is always prescribed. However, in today's world, this is often confused with the Creative Black Tie dress code, which allows for a bit of experimentation. Nevertheless, Mr. Lábus's outfit is not an experiment at all. A regular suit and ordinary gray sweater have nothing to do with both dress codes. I am surprised they even let him in dressed like this. He was presenting an award, so they probably had to.

Zuzana Zlatohlávková

The Slovak actress won an award for best series actress in a leading role for the series Good Morning, Brno! II. She probably thought that since she was nominated for a comedy series, she could dress like a comedian. When I saw her dress, the first thing that came to my mind was that she looked like Jim Carrey in the movie The Mask. A yellow blouse with balloon sleeves, a huge cleavage (thankfully she doesn't have to watch out for it) and a long white skirt look more like a theater costume than a gown worthy of Czech Lions. The blue eyeshadows she chose for that "something" do not help at all. She could at least salvage it with makeup, but that did not happen. No harm done, maybe next time…

Daniela Špinar

I'm sorry, but this theater director can only dream about taste and style. She came to the awards as Zuzana Zlatohlávková's companion. It should be noted that Zuzana looked really good next to her. She probably knew why she chose a director as an escort. Ready-to-wear dresses on spaghetti straps with an incomprehensible lace under the bust and on the lower hem of the dress are not something that would be trendy. The peculiar African necklace is absolutely off. The dress would be nice if she had it narrowed and straps shortened at the tailor's, then it might be wearable, possibly. However, even after this adjustment, they are not worthy of the red carpet. Given her proportions, she can afford to experiment and wear much more interesting and stylish pieces.

Eva Toulová

The director did not disappoint again. Lately, she has been appearing at more events than would be needed considering her style of dressing. However, at the Czech Lions, she pushed it to another extreme again. A dress ala Marie Antionette is more suited for a historical movie costume, not for a red ceremonial carpet. The strange top and that skirt confuse me the most. Is it a balloon skirt? Is it an attempt at an asymmetric unironed cut? Who knows, but it certainly looks like someone forgot to finish it or deliberately wanted to spoil the dress even more. I would leave those pumps and hairstyle without comment. Anything goes in fashion, but this outfit can really only be borne in their films.

Jan Červ and Zdeněk Vacek

The costume designer and artistic jeweler bet on extravagance. They were undoubtedly the pair that attracted the most attention during the evening. Vacek's glittering suit designed by Lukáš Macháček fits perfectly and reflects the most current trends. However, his partner Červ missed slightly with his choice. The extravagant and futuristic dress looks more like a sack on him, rather than flattering him. The dress is visually very impressive, but unfortunately it overshadows the wearer too much. I myself am in the balance – I admire him for his creativity and fearlessness, but at the same time the dress seems overly voluminous to me. On the other hand, I must admit that I was very pleased when I finally saw an outfit on the red carpet in the Czech pond that is worthy of Hollywood.
