The year of the Fire Rooster began!
The year 2016 was the year of the Monkey according to Chinese calendar. It was characterised by the spirit of property investments, luxury innovations and global premieres.
The year of Monkey provided our world with several firsts
The Olympic Games were first held in a city in South America and after 112 years away, golf returned as a discipline, representative of a luxury sport. The Canadian team won the World Ice Hockey Championships which were held in Moscow and Saint Petersburg and Portugal was victorious at UEFA Euro 2016 in France.
New things also happened in the field of modern technologies. Apple introduced the new iPhone and luxurious Apple iWatch. People are starting to enter the world of virtual reality ever more frequently where 3D glasses are conquering the world.
Leonardo DiCaprio finally took home an Oscar from the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood this year for best actor in a leading role for the film Revenant and the winner of the best picture award was Spotlight by Thomas McCarthy, a film based on actual events.
The Nobel Peace Prize this year went to the Colombian President Santos for bringing an end to the war which had lasted half a century with the FARC rebels, a group of revolutionary armed forces in Colombia.
We have behind us the most important elections in the world, in which Donald Trump came out victorious, becoming the new president of the United States of America. He is the first billionaire and businessman in the White House who was name Person of the Year by Time Magazine and is symbol of our times.
The year of Monkey in the Czech Republic
A Chinese president visited the Czech Republic this year for the first time in 67 years. The three-day visit by Xi Jinping led to strengthening of economic, cultural and human relations between the countries. It also led to the conclusion of several contracts, thanks to which Chinese countries could invest up to 95 billion crowns in the Czech Republic in the future.
The visit by the Tibetan Dalai Lama is also worth mentioning. He used his speech at Lucerna Palace to thank the people of the Czech Republic for their support for Tibet and while speaking, remembered the former president Václav Havel.
The largest aircraft in the world, the luxurious Airbus A380, first landed at Prague Airport on the Prague – Dubai route.
In the field of design, Czech designers enjoyed success and surprised and amazed the public with their luxury products at Design Week in Stockholm, Vienna, Milan and Sofia.
David Černý was responsible for another artistic feature in a public place in Prague, erecting the enormous Trifot which has cameras installed in it at Nové Butovice Metro station. The DOX Centre for Contemporary Art opened new space for meeting of art and literature in the shape of an airship and new artists also emerged on the music scene in the form of talented musicians such as the songwriter Pekař, the band Sebastian or Thom Artway.
The Czech Republic excelled among EU countries with its rapid economic growth and attracted the attention of both international and Czech investors. We experienced a property boom this year which will probably also continue in the coming one.

2017 will be a year of success and triumph for those who want to live luxuriously but who are also not afraid to roll up their sleeves and get their hands dirty. Those who are good at managing their time and strive hard to achieve their goals will be successful.

The year 2017 will be dominated by yellow, brown, brick and gold. We should avoid scarlet both in our clothing and in our accessories. Instead of pink topaz, red ruby and garnet, sphalerite and accessories in sienna brown will be entering the limelight.
The main element will be fire in the form of yin, which symbolises the peace and comfort of the family hearth.
