Playful fifties with a touch of wild eighties
The S/S 2018 collection combines two different periods – the elegant, yet playful 50s and 60s and the wild 80s. While the first era is symbolized by lace dresses with a bow that highlight the female curves, the eighties are commemorated by neon colors. Socks, knee socks, leggings in bright pink, green, orange or purple are a luxurious element that brings a touch of extravagance to this collection.
Say yes to layers!
The items in the collection are simple but layering them creates a truly unusual and innovative combinations! See-through dress with sensually showing underwear? Luxurious spaghetti strap dress in combination with a bright color polo shirt? Lace dress in combination with a knitted west and neon leggings? Miu Miu says yes and confirms that they do it their way.
A show of exotic beauties
The Miu Miu fashion show was indeed full of diversity. Ethnicity played no role and you could see a range of exotic beauties on the catwalk. After the show, Miuccia Prada said:
“What was really important and new for me was that for the first time I worked with a large range of truly different girls and people in general, and I enjoyed how the same dress looked different on two different models.”
The introduction of the collection, which took place in the traditional Palais d'Iéna in Paris, attracted also young actresses Sophia Lillis and Ell Fanning, the latter of whom was part of the Miu Miu S/S 2014 campaign.

Well, this must be the craziest show of this year. Like, I am sorry, but I don´t think I would wear that for my own admission into a lunatic asylum! Phosphorous socks in moccasin sandals?! When I was little, I thought about how I would manage to get dressed, if I lost my sight. This show surpassed any of my former ideas!
Another horror appeared in the form of a tiered dress with its laced overlay à la my grandmother´s cut-up curtains in the 90's! This cannot be excused, not even by the purse with its huge MIU MIU inscription. Unfortunately, the dress with floral was appalling also, having been inspired by a countryside work apron of a grandmother slaving at a stove. The strength of this reputable brand came down a couple of notches as fa pattern r as I am concerned.
