Every landscape or region around the Mediterranean varies by typical characteristics. We all can therefore choose in what we feel great. This style is applied in interiors of apartments, garden huts, or the houses themselves and you do not even need to live near a beach!
Rustic style goes hand in hand with Mediterranean style. Most employed here are natural materials, most frequently represented by wood, stone, terracotta, manually processed metal or a variety of woven fabrics.
If you prefer pastel variations, you will applaud now. Mediterranean style features light colours in combination with pastel shades. Natural light tones of blue and brown intermingle with lavender, yellow or warm orange, with strong representation of pristine white. You can stick to colour schemes of the sea, sun and heat-exuding landscape. You can also place your bet on olive tones.
Interior designer Todd Black, who joined forces with Moroccan craftsmen, created luxurious accommodation with original fabrics, colourful shiny decorations and handmade furniture, behind which stands luxury inspiration by Morocco.
Architect Savin Couëlle, using elements of Mediterranean style worked with inspiration derived directly from his extensive views of the bay of Sardinia´s Porto Rotondo and the Mediterranean Sea. In the interiors he works with a warm earthy pallet, using for example maroon beams and terracotta tiles. Is that not luxury in itself?
A fitting decoration here would be pastel tones, whether in furniture, fixtures, wall paintings or other fittings. This strategy was also employed by Spanish designer, Isabel López-Quesada. She created an airy lounge and a living room, which is ideal for an afternoon siesta. Pastel-shade fabrics lend the white and blue tones, inspired by the Greek islands of Santorini, a dose of refreshing atmosphere. The interior is breathing relaxed atmosphere.
