The desire to win customers over is the driving force behind this new trend: an aircraft cabin resembling a yacht! And why the Hell not? Lufthansa, Germany's largest airline, which operates in more than 200 destinations in Europe, Asia, Africa and America, comes with an exclusive novelty called SkyRetreat this time. In this passenger cabin, you'll feel just like in a luxurious yacht. And you can be sure it will truly be something extraordinary!
SkyRetreat will propell you up in the design sky. It follows the principles of naturalistic concept, similar to what we are used to from the world of yachts. Colors in warm tones, iron work, wood paneling, wooden furniture, leather seats - nothing is amiss. Try to purge your mind of the classic idea of what aircraft interior is supposed to look like. Here the space is filled with comfortable white L-shaped sofas, complemented by marble accessories and partially wooden floors. The luxurious design of the cabin is elevated even more thanks to the addition of elements such as carpets, table lamps and a wall picturing a wooded landscape.
The cabin will feature, among other things, a 4K TV with a display that will roll down from a special panel in front of your eyes, as well as a range of touch-sensitive controls. Director of the elite design airline Lufthansa Technik, Wieland Timm, adds that it will provide its customers with a whole new sense of space and a unique travel experience. There is no doubt that guests will feel completely relaxed and comfortable here.
It ought to be said that the concept was first introduced in Geneva at the European Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition (EBACE). The Airbus A 220 has become an experimental object for creating a specific design interior. Now you can look forward to the whole concept, which will be presented from September 25 to 28 at the phenomenal yacht festival in Monaco.
