The list of stellar guests, who appeared at the luxury fashion show of Louis Vuitton, was certainly not a short one. Emma Stone, Alicia Vikander, Willow Smith, Catherine Deneuve, Justin Theroux, Mark Ronson, Sienna Miller, Nina Dobrev, Emma Roberts, Léa Seydoux or Jennifer Connelly - and not only them, came to view the FW 19 fashion show, created under the baton of Nicolas Ghesquière.
While most of the celebrities arrived sporting a stylish and subtle minimalistic look, actress Jennifer Connelly bet on colours and extravagance. This took care of the biggest surprise of the evening! The combination of a red-blue check, a white-green handbag, a printed skirt and high black boots revealed a side of Jennifer that we didn´t know yet; she deserves our thumbs-up! In addition, her outfit to the letter matched the spirit breathing from the FW 19 luxury collection - which is retro style!
The Louis Vuitton FW 19 light dose of nostalgia is characterised by big shoulders, animal and floral patterns, belts, frills, leather headgear and especially heaps of sequins. Welcome to the luxury eighties! And that is where LV lures us to through its new collection. And it offers something extra, too - individuality.
Today we can see that the answer to the question was ´no´. The French fashion designer breathed into the collection a hallmark of uniqueness and his tactical steps won loyalty not only of the public but also of the stars who regularly attend his fashion shows.
We wish the designer luck and inspiration for further creation, when we meet here again, perhaps in the spirit of the nineties!
The greatest retro style of Louis Vuitton 19/20 FW at the Paris Fashion Week was presented by Nicolas Ghesquière in the presence of créme de la créme of the society.
If you love the Czech film "Discopříběh" or actress Catherine Deneuve, as the largest cult movies of the 1980s, this collection will charm you. Because this was the biggest retro inspiration of the Paris Fashion week!
The perfect example is a blue-violet frilly dress which was last seen in a similar style worn by Madonna in 1987. Are these "multi ruffles" making a comeback? Not for me, thank you! I cannot think of a single occasion where I could wear something similar. That is if I don´t include the retro party at Cafe 80's...
The rest of the models is also a mixture of retro hits: from drainpipe trousers to graphically rich patterns on blouses and clothing. There is only thing which I could consider as being wearable; that is a dark blue coat with a pointed collar and a belt, decorated by a square clasp. Simply a classic item, matching everything and fit to be worn anywhere. Otherwise the overall impression unfortunately deserves thumbs down ...
