The deluxe show presented by beautiful former singer and fashion designer Victoria Beckham celebrated the tenth anniversary of establishment of this successful brand at London Fashion Week. And presentation of her newest SS19 collection attracted even more attention as a result. Everyone was curious about the models Victoria would present this time. How successful was she at fashion week and what did her collection offer?
The SS19 collection is full of luxurious light fabrics and also heaver materials. At first glance it is clear that this is a luxury that you will want to wear. The collection offers completely feminine models full of minimalism, elegance and also asymmetry and other interesting elements to catch your eye. This is another collection in which Victoria used simple materials and also played with patterns, like the “Chanel” type pattern, lace or the popular stripes.
We like the fact that even though the collection is minimalistic, there was no lack of colours. Yes, it is wonderful wearing simple colours like nude, white, black and grey, but when bolder colours also appear in your wardrobe these immediately give your outfit more flair. So you can see red, yellow, pink or wine-red in the SS19 collection.
The fashion at Fashion Week is not just about presenting the craziest items, but also fashion that will be worn. And this is exactly what Beckham considered in her SS19 collection, wearable and practical fashion, which will not just adorn figurines in shops, but real women.
The wonderful models in this collection include narrow trousers with a vent at the ankle, leather shoes, beautifully elegant coats, hats and deluxe leather handbags. We also liked how the models were layered, making them look very interesting and allowing various combinations.
If we think about it, then this is certainly one of the hardest “subjects” that a designer can encounter. Ten years of no large appliqués, embellishments or other extravagance. Maybe this is also why I was curious whether Victoria would break through her conservatism on this important anniversary.
In the end there was no shock, but that doesn’t matter. I thought that the best item in the entire collection was the long white dress with the blue rope at the waist as an unusual belt. Sailor-style simplicity, something that never disappoints. This dress can be worn practically anywhere you won’t encounter small children, because you would look like the “before” picture in an advert for Persil after spending a moment in the presence of some little tots.
And which model do I think is a complete mistake in this show? Definitely the white crocheted dress under which the model wore black knickers and top. This looks like something that has been worn a hundred times and was acquired from a flea market market. Simply horrific!
