To fall for life of luxury is so simple. There simply are fashion houses which know what women want, strikes me, as I am trying on new pieces for my wardrobe in a boutique named after a phenomenal pair of designers, Dolce&Gabbana.
With the joy from my purchases and ease of the new silk dress into which I have changed already I run back to work. A large bag with my new goodies gets stuck in the doorway and I have difficulty releasing it. It seems to me that the boutique door doesn´t want to let me go. No wonder, given what I am just about to do!
A few steps away, in Paris Street I see him for the first time. It´s really him! The new Mercedes Class A! He beams at me and my heart beats faster. There is no one in the car, the door is open and the keys are just lying inside.
You may have noticed that some things women simply cannot resist, even if sinful! And believe me that the new Mercedes Class A, is definitely one of them.
It is time to enjoy a little adventure ...
"What do you want to do?", a suspicious voice frightens me as soon as I get into the car. Thanks to the smart network connection you can really communicate with the new Mercedes Class A. The car understands everything you say: just hit the voice button on the steering wheel or say "Hey, Mercedes" and the vehicle according to instructions locates a specific destination, reads a message or searches for a contact.
I have been searching in vain for the gear lever, but there is none! Time runs on and the owner of the car may come back at any moment. Fortunately, just in time I notice a lever under the steering wheel for switching automatic driving modes. The priceless female intuition! With a smile I put my foot down.
“Hey, Mercedes?”, a lot more experienced I restart the interrupted thread of conversation with the robot which had previously startled me. "Yes, please?", he responds reconciled.
"Go to Karlštejn castle"!
The dream is becoming a reality. I can see how the Paris Street is disappearing in the rear window and the mayhem of the metropolis with it. I set off toward nature where I intend to enjoy my drive uninterrupted.
At first glance my attention is attracted by the transparent display of the vehicle, the look of which may be changed by the pressing of a button on the steering wheel. The displaying of the current speed limit which shows in the shape of a red-and-white marks directly on the display above the steering wheel seems to me, a passionate driver who regularly collects fines for exceeding the speed limit, really handy.
When entering the roundabout, in front of me a car brakes all of a sudden. The Mercedes automatically brakes and I appreciate the great work of the interval-maintaining assistant. Thanks to the latter the car automatically stops if there is another stationary vehicle in front standing on the spot for more than 30 seconds. On the contrary, when the car in front of me stops obstructing, the Mercedes accelerates automatically. That is what I call natural intelligence!
I unwittingly look at my brand new watch Tudor Clair de Rose. My goodness, is that the time? In this car you lose concept of time, I recall the meeting that I now need to cancel. "Hey, Mercedes, a message for Charlotte!" The car obediently sends a text message, releasing me from all today's remaining obligations.
This finally won me over completely. Finally freedom! Now is the right time to try out what else this motor can do. On the long tarmac roads, interwoven through the picturesque Czech landscape, I put my foot down on the gas pedal. "I wish you were mine," I say to myself. A smooth operator on business trips and indispensable pal for weekend golfing trips. That is exactly what I needed!
I stop directly at the car park in front of the Karlštejn golf course. With the parking distance control system it´s easy-peasy. Well, it feels a little empty, because everybody else (apart from me) is at work, but I can imagine how beautifully would one be able to park in the city centre with such reliable cameras.
Just about everything is somehow more enjoyable and easier with this car. Do you want to charge your iphone and you don´t have the cable? No problem! It suffices to lay it on the centre dashboard and it will recharge wirelessly.
I discover the various functions of the dashboard manual and I find that it is possible to even change the car interior lighting. Thanks to intuitive touch control, viewing of the menu is very easy and comfortable for drivers. One doesn´t have to look at where it is necessary to touch, just move your finger over the touchpad.
The minimalist and clean design is one of the advantages not only of the interior, but also of the bodywork of the luxury car. And what is it that is concealed beneath the gleaming bonnet? The Mercedes Class A has a 4-cylinder petrol or diesel engine, so that you can literally race away with it. However, without accidents (!), according to the lyrics of a famous Czech song.
That´s because this vehicle has safety in the job description. For example there are icons in the side mirrors to show you when you should not overtake and in the event of a possible approaching impact you will hear audible alarm. This reminds me that today I am still to expect a collision with the owner of the car.
High time to return. I'm saying goodbye to the view of the Karlštejn Castle, which proudly stands between the green hills like a crown on the head of Charles IV.
I am returning to the crime scene and already from afar I can see an impatient guy. Not skimping on curses I again look at the watch. That would be the owner, I steel myself. And the anger quite suits him, I'm smiling to myself.
When he sees his car and me in it, initially he doesn´t even look at me through the flurry of anger. But then he stops himself and self-righteously says: "A beautiful car, it must have cost a great deal of money..." For a moment I am ashamed of my impulsive escape in a strange car, but finally I come to my senses and truthfully respond: “Not really … but it was worth a sin!"
