Kunsthalle Prague will be a new place for modern art!
A new space for contemporary art and culture with an exhibition area of 1300 m² is created in the historical centre of Prague. The idea of this non-profit project originated from the initiative of Petr Pudil and Pavlína Pudilová. What can we look forward to? To luxury short-term exhibitions, experimental art, a wide range of educational projects, cultural events and social activities. The Kunsthalle Prague will start operating in the spring of 2021.

From a former transformer station to a modern art centre
Kunsthalle Prague can be found in the former Zenger transformer station at Klárov, under Chotkovy sady, where extensive reconstruction has been under way since last year. Originally an unusual industrial-style building, it is being transformed into a new exhibition space, following the example of foreign galleries. The German professor at the Universität der Künste Berlin, Axel Kufus, and his colleagues from the Berlin Werkstudio will take care of the luxurious interior. The transformation of the building is in the hands of the Czech architectural studio Schindler Seko.
The project will be presented in June this year
The emerging project will be presented by the Living Kunsthalle event on June 16, 2019, at 19:00 p.m. at the New Stage of the National Theatre, which will turn into a vibrant artistic laboratory, come alive with performances, sound sculptures, projections and other experimental pieces that promise unusual encounters with contemporary art. At the same time, it will indicate which path the Kunsthalle will take.
The event will be personally supported by Lithuanian artist Lina Lapelyte, who this year received the Golden Lion Award for Best National Pavilion of the Venice Biennale. Moroccan artist Hicham Berrada will present his tribute to chemistry in the form of his science experiment titled Presagé and the audience will be amazed by the audiovisual performance SYSTEMA OCCAM by Frenchman Xavier Veilhan.
The Czech scene will be represented by Adéla Součková with the luxurious video installation Landin and Roman Štětina with the Centones project.
