The legendary actress Jennifer Aniston started her career in the film Mac and Me in 1988. She made her big-screen debut in the 1993 horror film Leprechaun, which didn't bring her a lot of success, though. That changed very soon. Just a year later, she got the role of Rachel Green in the highly successful TV sitcom Friends. The role of a spoiled waitress launched her among the world's highest-paid actresses. Born into a family of actors
Jennifer Aniston, full name Jennifer Joanna Aniston, was born on February 11, 1969 in Sherman Oaks, California. Both her parents were actors. Her father John is best known for the film "Days of Our Lives", and her mother Nancy Dow played in "The Beverly Hillbillies" in the 60's or in "Wild Wild West". Her parents weren't supportive of Jennifer's acting career, though, and did not want her to appear on TV screens.

her father had told her back then. But Aniston wanted to prove him wrong.

Bike messenger, ice cream scooper and waitress
She studied a the High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts in New York. During her school years, she supported herself by working a couple of part-time jobs. The one she considers the worst was the job of a bike messenger when she was 19. During that time, she even crashed into an open car door in the streets of New York. She also worked as an ice cream scooper and a waitress. Eventually, she decided to take a different path and began auditioning in NY and Los Angeles.
She started to appear on television in 1989, but her beginnings were humble. She made her big-screen debut in Leprechaun (1993), in which she played a teenage girl. It wasn't a big success, either. But everything turned around in 1994!

Her big breakthrough came when she was cast in the role of Rachel Green, a funny and spoiled waitress in the Friends sitcom. The series, focused on 6 friends living in New York, premiered in 1994 and soon became one of the most-watched TV shows. Rachel's relationship with Ross Geller became one of the series' most popular storylines. But not many people know that originally, the role of Rachel was supposed to go to Courtney Cox, who played Monica. In the end, however, they swapped their roles.
"They wanted Courtney Cox to play Rachel. and unbeknownst to each other, I wanted to play Rachel and she wanted to play Monica. It worked out perfectly,"
said Aniston. She received an Emmy Award (2002) and a Golden Globe (2003) for the role. Together with her colleagues, she became one of the world's highest-paid TV actresses. In 2004, she earned $1 million (22 million CZK) for each episode.

An endless supply of feature films
It definitely didn't end with Friends for Aniston, on the contrary! Film offers were pouring down on her ever since. She starred in a number of comedy films such as "The Object of my Affection" (1999), "Office Space" (1999) and "Mighty Bruce" (2003).
In 2011, she played a role in the film "Just Go with It" with Adam Sandler. Another very successful comedy film was "We're the Millers" from 2013, in which she played a fake mother and a wife in order to smuggle marijuana from Mexico to the United States.
"You just exhaust yourself. I mean, I could not get Rachel Green off of my back for the life of me,"
the actress shared in an interview.

Naturally, the personal life of one of Hollywood's most beautiful stars was very closely watched. At the peak of her fame, she married actor Brad Pitt in 2000 after two years of dating. In 2004, Pitt began working on a film with Angelina Jolie and rumours about their affair started to circulate. Pitt and Aniston divorced a year later.
In 2011, she began dating another actor, Justin Theroux. The couple got engaged a year later, after a rather short time. Aniston married Theroux in 2015, but she did not find her soul mate in him, either. The couple divorced in 2017. According to both actors, they parted peacefully and remained on friendly terms.
She hasn't been seen with anyone else since then.
Age is just a number
This is true especially for Jennifer Aniston! She looks more fabulous than ever and doesn't seem to slow down at all. The latest films she starred in were "Dumplin'" (2018) and "Murder Mystery" (2019). And we believe there is much more to look forward to!
