Highlights from the Life of Golf Legend, John Daly
Since 1987, when he began to devote himself to golf professionally, he´s been collecting one award after another. And even though he is today at his 52 years of age not the very best any longer, he is still very much in demand. John Daly undoubtedly knows how to use his exceptional talent for many other activities, living his life to the full. Including some downfalls!
John Daly is becoming the darling of the audiences!
He was born in Carmichael, California, at four years of age he begun to play golf, at the university in Arkansas he became member of a golf team, left school and never finished it. In 1991 he won the PGA championship, exactly the same year in which he entered PGA Tour. And the media started to be interested in him. Another victory followed and John Daly became the darling of golf enthusiasts, feared by his rivals.
Famous John Daly let loose in business, too!
You will not easily forget John Daly and certainly you will not fail to notice him on the links. You can see him from afar because of his luxurious colourful trousers, for which he also became famous. He collaborates with a clothing range Loudmouth Golf as well as Rock Bottom Golf.
John Daly is also owner of a company which designs golf courses - JD designs. For example, the luxurious Sevillano Links, which the Golfweek magazine designated as the best new golf course.
In 2010 came to the market a game, John Daly´s Prostroke Golf for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC. In it, John Daly is an instructor as well as an adversary at the same time. The game contains 12 courses which may only be opened if the player defeats Daly.
John Daly is also a singer! His first album My Life came out in 2002. In 2010 he published his second album called I Only Know One Way. Eight of the songs were written by himself, but the album also contains a cover luxury song by Bob Dylan - Knockin' On Heaven's Door.

In 2006 he placed in the market a luxury line of wines John Daly Wines, which however didn´t last the pressure. Some time ago he also offered his brand of pizza, sold at bowling alleys, bars and casinos, which he enjoyed visiting. And here we come across the downside of his incredibly varied life.
Alcohol and hazard
In 2008 he had problems with alcohol and his then coach Butch Harmon left his employment. When he was found drunk in front of the restaurant Hooters, on the 26th October 2008, the police provided a comment to the media, which resulted in negative publicity. Shortly after this event Daly went completely teetotal, which was reflected on the links as well as his personal life. He blamed his troubles with alcohol on his father´s alcoholism.
John Daly is an immensely rich man, living in luxury. But money often comes with its own problems. In his biography he said that he has great difficulties with gambling. During the last 15 years he allegedly spent 50 - 60 million dollars!
It´s over with USGA!
The last report on this turbulent personality is once again about golf. After this year the American Golf Association refused his request for the use of a buggy at USA Senior Open (he had a leg injury) John decided that he has no more plans to ever play an USGA tournament again.
