Giambattista Valli Haute Couture SS 2018: From Stately Gowns to Ultra Mini!
The success of the collection is the inspiration of Greek and Roman goddesses that enabled the creation of luxurious airy and asymmetric dresses in conjunction with inspiration by delicate blossoms of English gardens. Romantic flowers embellished a number of models and the theme of English gardens also breathed from the wide palette of the selected colours. Giambattista Valli reached for earthy shades of brown, sweet apricot, delicate lavender or romantic pink.

Giambattista Valli created a very varied Haute Couture collection
The presentation of Haute Couture collection of the luxury Italian brands, Giambattista Valli, was a varied mix to satisfy all tastes. Black and white pieces playing with transparency effects, luxurious evening gowns with silver sequins and precious stones, ultra mini, sensual vents and cut-through effects, maxi bow and frills or noble gowns which due to their monstrous volume spread almost over the entire catwalk.
Luxurious pieces lighter than air!
Creative Director, Giambattista Valli created fresh and modern pieces that often looked lighter than air. The luxurious materials such as muslin, organza, chiffon, leather, lace, netting and feathers trimmed the excellent models of Haute Couture SS 2018 collection. The fashion designer stated that an element of modernity in his collection is essential:
"I don´t work for museums, nor archives - really, I try to dress real women."
Lime-coloured maxi gown is a feast for the eyes
The end of the show was crowned by a lime-coloured maxi gown which was created from several hundred metres of pleated tulle. And although this piece would be quite challenging in terms of finding a suitable venue, it is certainly a feast for your eyes! Giambattista Valli set the bar very high indeed and it will not be an easy task to surpass it.

The dress which took my breath away!
The 0Haute Couture collection of the luxury Italian fashion house, Giambattista, took me completely by surprise. After the Chanel show it is another brand whose dress from the master-class workshop may actually be worn even in everyday life. Of course, after I discard the fluffy pastel dresses, reminiscent of a crumpled bonbon wrap.
I'm enthused by the idea to imitate the clothes of Greek goddesses, which may be seen on all sorts of statues from ancient times. Even as a little girl I loved it, coming out of a sauna, my moist bed sheet was immediately turned into a Greek robe of a goddess. Most of all I am reminded of this by the white gown with one short and one full sleeve reaching the ground.
However, for me the absolute climax of the show was the fluid light-pink dress with a v-shaped neckline and a little accentuated waist adorned by silver rhinestones! It took my breath away! It was so beautiful that to wear it to a ball just wouldn´t do it justice. It deserves to be worn for example to a dinner party or to the Four Seasons hotel or Bellevue restaurant at Smetana´s nábřeží waterfront. It was the TOP!
