says the exhibition curator Petr Šámal and explains:
“Museums are usually reluctant to lend artworks of the most famous authors. Sometimes negotiating a lease of a single painting can take months to years, and some chef d'oeuvres never even leave their place.”
The French Impressionism exhibition is organized in collaboration with the Danish state art museum Ordrupgaard, which obtained these masterpieces from one of the most prominent entrepreneurs of his time, Wilhelm Hansen.
Now it is making them available to visitors in Central Europe for the first time in history. Prior to Prague, they have been exhibited only in France, Canada and Switzerland.
