What is the reason for this special label? Ferrari Monza, designated SP1 or SP2 indicates a single or double-seat speedster. SP1 indicates one seat, only for the driver. SP2 allows you to take another person for a ride in the luxury car. Ferrari Monza SP1 and SP2 is part of a new line, Icona, within whose framework the carmaker intends to revive ideas from its past. These are special limited-edition vehicles, where only 200 will be made of each type.
Monza SP1 is not just any "retro" car, but is dominated by the latest technology of sports cars. This Ferrari is based on a front centre 812 engine, Superfast. It boasts a 6.5 litre V12 engine, with power of 596 kW and torque 719 N.m. It can sprint from 0-100 km/h in 2.9 seconds and 0-200 km/h in 7.9 seconds. The maximum speed is more than 300 km/h. The 21-inch wheels featuring the Ferrari wild stallion lend the car a sporty but majestic look: it was designed so as to beautifully match the minimalist exterior.
The SP1 model is very simple, there are no dramatic aerodynamic extravagances. It features an interesting specially-narrowed space intended for the driver. Ferrari has also patented its "virtual wind shield" which is placed before the instrument panel and the steering wheel. Ferrari made a statement, which declares that the design and performance in the free space gives the driver an "incredible sense of speed", which under normal circumstances is only experienced by Formula 1 drivers. The interior is then oriented on the driver, including the angle of the centre panel. You are encircled in a sweep of elliptical carbonfibre, in front of you can see a giant rev counter accompanied by two screens on the sides.
The design was described by design director Flavio Manzoni himself: "It's elegance of the past in conjunction with uncompromising architecture and modern approach. No nostalgic approach".
This luxury car will cost you EUR 1.6 million inclusive of Italian VAT.
