The famous muses of Karl Lagerfeld and their messages to fashion heaven
The fashion world lost one of its most prominent icons, which had immensely impacted the fashion industry. It was a great honour for models to present themselves on the cat walk in his newest luxury collections, and all of the people that adored Karl or knew him personally expressed their condolences and sadness over his death on social media.
Although Karl Lagerfeld was a friend of many famous personalities from various spheres, his muses were of great importance to him – models and actresses he collaborated with and sewed for. What did they have to say about him, and what messages did they send to fashion heaven?
Cara Delevingne – a successful model and a great muse of Karl Lagerfeld and a longstanding face of his collections and the brand Chanel:
‘He changed my life, he believed in me when so many others didn’t including myself. He is a visionary, a genius but more than that.... a dear friend. He was one of the most interesting men I have ever met‘
Lily-Rose Depp – the French-American actress, daughter of Johnny depp and Vanessa Paradis was Lagerfeld’s muse of late, she often appeared at his fashion shows on the cat walk. She left a long message on Instagram, from which we quote:
‘I feel so lucky to have been able to work with you so closely, but even luckier to have known your heart and incredible spirit.‘
Diane Kruger – the famous actress, which could often be seen on the red carpet in the stunning Chanel dresses of Karl Lagerfeld:
‚I will never forget your kindness towards me, your laughs, your imagination. I came to France to see you this week and introduce you to my daughter…I’m heartbroken I was too late. Rest In Peace, I adore you‘
Kaia Gerber – the successful model, daughter of Cindy Crawford is the current face of Chanel, and created in collaboration with Karl Lagerfeld the young people’s collection Karl Lagerfeld X Kaia:
‚I cannot put into words how lucky we all are to have been gifted your vision. Your girls love you so much. The world is more beautiful now because of you. Thank you for everything, no one will ever compare.‘
Of those, who expressed their condolences via media or instagram accounts are an enormous number of people like for example, Cindy Crawford, Melania Trump, Penélope Cruz, models Kendall Jenner, Gigi and Bella Hadid, and also designers Valentino Garavani, Victoria Beckham, Stella McCartney and many others.
We are also saddened by the fact, that the world has lost such a gifted designer and a great person with an unbelievable talent. He will forever remain an icon of the fashion world of the end of the 20th and the beginning of the 21st century.
