200 costumes, props and photos from 70 famous films and fairy tales made in the years 1960 - 1990 will be exhibited from 16.5 to 14. 10. at the luxurious Prague gallery, the Dancing House. And which movies will the exhibition include? Those voted for by 400,000 viewers!
Who would not wish to recall the very popular fairytale series Arabela with all its magical costumes? Or are you interested in how exactly did the luxurious suit look like, in which Josef Abrhám run around the Karlovy Vary colonnade as a fake head waiter in the film “Vrchní, prchni!” (Run, Waiter, Run)? And what about Saxana and the amazing costumes tailored for the legendary fairytale comedy Girl on the Broomstick? Perhaps at the Dancing House you will also be able to see the luxurious rabbit ears that so suited young Jan Kraus!
Films such as Closely Observed Trains by Miloš Forman, the immortal musical Old Men Harvesting Hops, film comedy How About Ordering Spinach or the most popular comedy I Enjoy the World with You will come alive at the Dancing House.
"Original movie costumes will be accompanied by period photographs, posters and other film props to best bring to mind the most famous things from a specific film," says curator of the exhibition, Jana Sommerová.
