The third year of the Adapterra Awards competition is underway. Until the end of March this year, people can submit ready-made projects that aim to help manage the effects of the climate crisis on the website www.adapterraawards.cz. An expert jury selects the best ideas from open countryside, urban and work environment or from the area of housing. Prague also has a category for the best adaptation project in the territory of the capital in the competition. In the summer, the public will also be able to choose a project they like most. Own technological, or nature-friendly solutions can be entered into the competition by owners, investors, designers and contractors.

"In our projects we focus on the retention and management of rainwater, planting trees in the city streets and in parks and forest parks, preparation of care for trees and greenery, replacement of impermeable surfaces for permeable and semi-permeable, implementation of community gardens or green courtyards, ie projects that help as many city dwellers as possible cope better with climate change. The capital city of Prague, in cooperation with the municipal company ICT Operator and the DDB Prague agency, has prepared a comprehensive information campaign on vaccination against covid-19 for the inhabitants of Prague. The basic tool will be the information website ockovani.praha.eu. Its visitors will find there answers to fundamental questions about vaccination prepared in cooperation with health professionals. Another goal of the site will be to refute misleading and untrue information that spreads on social networks.

"We feel the need to offer people all the necessary information about vaccinations in a comphrehensive manner and in one place. The government is way behind not only when it comes to providing vaccines for the most at-risk groups, but also in spreading awareness of the vaccination itself. In order for people to actually make a decision, they need to have enough relevant information,"

says the Mayor of the capital city of Prague Zdeněk Hřib. According to the survey, approximately 65% of the population of Prague wants to be vaccinated, the main reason being the protection of their own health and the health of their loved ones. Those who are not interested in vaccination are most often discouraged by fears about the side effects of the vaccine and the fact that the vaccine has been developed "too quickly" since the outbreak of the pandemic last spring.

US President Joe Biden has spoken with Russian President Vladimir Putin for the first time since taking office and expressed concern about Russia's activities, including the treatment of imprisoned Kremlin critic Alexei Navalnyj. According to a White House statement, the two leaders agreed that their teams would work urgently to complete the extension of the new US-Russia arms control treaty until February 5, when the current pact expires. The arms control treaty limits the United States and Russia to deploying no more than 1550 strategic nuclear warheads each.

Biden also confronted Putin about his concerns regarding Russia's interference in the 2020 US presidential elections, as well as the huge cyber hack Solarwinds, for which the White House blames Moscow, and the reports of bounties on the heads of US troops in Afghanistan offered by Russia to Taliban insurgents.

Yesterday it was exactly a year since Kobe Bryant, a world basketball legend, died in a helicopter crash in California. His daughter Gigi, who was traveling with him, didn't survive the helicopter crash either. In the past, she had often attended Bryant's matches, because the two shared a love for basketball.

Bryant's legacy is a model of a hard worker, dedicated to sport, a wise basketball mentor and a loving husband. The whole world remembered him yesterday.

"I can't believe we it's been a year since we lost you. MAMBA FOREVER,"

Justin Timberlake wrote on Twitter.

"Believing in yourself is something that's not always easy to do for anyone, but that was one thing I took from Kobe,"

said Japanese tennis player Naomi Osaka.

According to experts and officials, the launch of vaccination in Japan faces logistical obstacles that could further delay the already-slow campaign, thereby complicating plans for timely vaccination against Covid-19 before the Olympics.

By then, Japan would have to administer 870,000 shots a day to vaccinate half of its population, with each person needing two doses.

That's all from us for now, have a beautiful morning and don't put things off until later, because, as the Roman philosopher Seneca says:

"While we waste our time hesitating and procrastinating, life is slipping away."
