As a part of the celebrations of the anniversary of the fall of communism, many buildings will be sporting out national colors today, such as the Petřín Lookout Tower, the Dancing House, Prague Castle, the Žižkov Tower, the Congress Center and the Rudolfinum. National flags will be hanging on public lighting poles in the historical center of Prague.

"We installed national flags on 65 public lighting poles on Wenceslas Square and Národní třída. These will remind Prague citizens of the dramatic and inspiring events of 1989,"

described Tomáš Novotný, the Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Technology of the Capital City of Prague.

Denmark is going to kill about 25,000 chickens due to the presence of H5N8 bird flu. This will practically stop the export of poultry products to countries outside the European Union for at least another three months. However, the Danish Veterinary and Food Administration reassures in their statement that they haven't recorded any cases of animal-to-human transmission.

In recent days, the disease has appeared in wild birds in the west of the country, but a number of cases have been seen elsewhere in Europe in the last few weeks. Earlier on Monday, for example, Germany ordered the slaughter of 16,100 turkeys after finding the same type of bird flu at a farm in northern Germany. And the French also reported a case of the disease on the island of Corsica.

Amazon founder Jeff Bezos announced that he's donating more than 17 billion CZK to a total of 16 groups fighting against the destruction of our environment.

"I've spent months studying groups of incredibly smart people who have made the fight against climate change and its impact on communities around the world their mission,"

he added to the statement. Grants will be given to big names in the non-profit sector and laboratories, as well as to climate justice groups.

The news comes just a year after Amazon released its "Climate Promise," committing the company to using 100% renewable energy by 2025.

Even the ban on social gathering will not prevent the November 17th celebrations. For example, people will be able to watch the Concert Against Totalism online from 19:00. As per tradition, the concert will feature compositions by authors whose lives and works were marked by totalitarian regimes or who were directly exposed to various forms of injustice.

HAMU students, professors and graduates will meet on stage. You can look forward to pieces such as the Sonata for Piano by the Hungarian author Béla Bartók, the song cycle Songs on Two Pages, composed by Bohuslav Martinů on the texts of Moravian folk poetry, and the Quartet for the End of Time by Olivier Messiaen.

The concert is organized by the Academy of Performing Arts, the Academy of Fine Arts and the Václav Havel Library.

An accident happened on the Japanese website of the Italian luxury products manufacturer Prada, where almost every price appeared with a 99% discount. Customers could buy many iconic products for between 5 and 21 dollars (in terms of 100 to 1,000 CZK). However, the new owners didn't rejoice for long - although Prada had not yet commented on the whole incident, according to all indications, all orders had been canceled.
