The artistic director of Dior’s women’s collections is Maria Grazia Chiuri, who once again stylishly reinvigorates various codes in Dior’s heritage. For the new Fall/Winter 2017-18 collection, she chose a dominant blue color, which was one of the favorite colors of Mr. Dior.
Blue is a symbol of power and great spirit, and is often used in fall and winter collections. It is also a color symbolizing the night, not the romantic kind but rather an active, determined and strong night: just like the women who wear these colors.
Denim is present in unique shapes and forms, and some models are in fact reminiscent of working clothes accompanied with luxurious accessories and unique, unusual cuts. Beautiful blue hues are also present in the luxuriously layered shimmering dresses. You’ll find provocative translucent materials and luxurious velvet, which looks as if it fell right from a magical night sky.
The luxurious accessories in this collection are predominantly leather berets and black or dark blue purses with an easy-to-spot brand name.
