The Brandon Maxwell brand has only been on the market for four years, but it has already managed to build a star customer base during this short time, and get over half a million fans just on Instagram! Why wouldn't it, this talented designer's fashion is not only luxurious and sexy, but most of all wearable! He assured us of this once again at the New York fashion week.

Jeans in the leading role

A pair of jeans, a white T-shirt and sneakers. Brandon Maxwell may not have been the one to come up with this popular fashion creation, but at NYFW he introduced many different ways of wearing everyone's favorite piece of clothing! Following the American designer, you can wear jeans with a denim shirt for example, a shirt with a cardigan, a silky crop top or a satin blouse - and none of these cases will be a misstep.

Brandon Maxwell's previous collections aren't lacking in luxurious shine either.

He finds inspiration in strong women

The new SS20 collection also contains models full of sharp lines and sculpted details that follow the spirit of minimalism and godly elegance. The designer tends to find inspiration in strong women and wishes to let his clients feel beautiful and have the clothes cater to them perfectly. And that's exactly what we sense off these luxurious pieces!

The best from the SS20 collection according to Luxury Prague Life

It was a serious ordeal to pick a few of the BEST pieces, but these are the specific ones you should make space in the closet for!

This is why Michelle Obama, Meghan Markle and others wear him too

After seeing the SS20 collection, it's no wonder that icons such as Michelle Obama, Meghan Markle, Oprah Winfrey, Blake Lively, Nicole Kidman or Jane Fonda wear Brandon Maxwell's models. The American designer's stylish models are simply absolutely flawless.

You can find all models from the SS20 collection in the gallery below.

I have to admit that I don't really keep up with this designer's work, and looking at my review it's likely going to stay that way, but let's start off positive...

An A for timelessness

The perfect outfit to serve as inspiration for the upcoming Indian summer. Leather pants completed with open-toe pumps may get you a bit of a cold (and blisters), but the denim shirt combined with an oversize jacket with shoulder pads may hearken back to the 90's, but think ecological! You can get a jacket like this one in any second hand shop, or you can get a similar one from the new collection by the successful young designer star Vanda Janda and support local fashion and sustainable trends. I give it an A+ for timelessness!

One huge no!

Denim jumpsuits have probably never been cool. Or at least we can most often see them on platinum blondes with an orange spray tan and lacking in taste. And matching a necklace, a belt, rings and earrings on top of that has been over since the beginning. The cheap glass design a la gypsy is further emphasized by the bell-bottom pants that do not flatter any type of figure, and I'm not even talking about the risk of a cameltoe in the crotch area. One big NO!

Too many belts!

This style is just one big BELT! Or rather three belts, then the strap sandals that the designer seems to have fallen in love with, they probably remind him of summer. Nonetheless, let's break this outfit down in detail. At first glance it might appear effective thanks to the flowing satin, but after looking at it for a while (if you are able to take your eyes off those two belts on top of each other, that is) you'll find out that it is actually a combination of an elegant dress with some kind of party pants made out of shiny material that really does not make one look thinner. Unfortunately this outfit does not look good even on a model with a beautiful figure. The only thing we can praise is the matching of pastels, the rest is boring. And the BELTS!!!

Pretty fine for a Middle Eastern marketplace

Watch out for the wolf, Little Red Riding Hood! Even though this is more of a fairy tale grandma that had the foresight to choose the color of blood. Or what inspiration was there for this model - a satin robe? Look, it's pretty fine for a Middle Eastern marketplace, but who would go out in this? Maybe me after the postpartum period in an attempt to hide an imperfect figure. In any case, this cut and material must be extremely comfortable. That's a thing I can praise, at least, because the long flaps on the lapels make me think of matrimonial fraud or a circus variety performance. 3 times NO.

Outfit like something out of a rental dress shop

At least there's something pretty to conclude with. This dress reminds me of my designs from back then. I drew various dresses based on the perfect figures of Barbie dolls, which appeared princess-like but also sexy. That's what I was like a little bit when I was a teen :) If the dress is supposed to be viewed as a wedding one, though, there isn't much room left for the groom's imagination. Ideal for the perfect boobs, but the push-up top isn't doing any miracles, and on top of that, the skirt looks like something out of a rental shop. Wait, this was supposed to be pretty.

Better luck next time, hopefully! :)
